In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hi everyone. I am new to the forum as I just 2 days ago bought a brand new 2012 genesis with 32 miles on it.

I have a questions about the LDWS which mine came with on the 4.6 trim.

it seems to work ok and I think it is only a waring system and not a prevention system however when listening to the stereo i can barely hear the warning chime as the volume for it is so low. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to increase the volume?

It seems that if I am falling asleep at the wheel or not paying attention the tiny yellow flashing light in the dash and low volume would hardly get my attention.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: 2012 Genesis LDWS

The warning sounds may be faint, but if they don't wake you up the seatbelt will when it tightens up like a boa constrictor or a blood pressure cuff.
Fwiw, it's the one feature I don't use. For example, I intentionally cross the shoulder line when passing a truck on the highway/interstate. I don't need the distraction of the alarms or chokes at 80 MPH.
But no, I don't know how to make it louder.

I have the same problem with the sound level and would like to how to make it louder. However, should you remain over the lane line for more than a few seconds, the seat belt will demand your attention with a sudden jerk. I hadn't yet read the owners manual so was unprepared for it the first time it happened... it was scary....like in the movies when the bad guy had slipped into the back seat without you knowing it.

I think, if you have your directionals on, it cancels the alarm when crossing the line.

That's correct, the turn signal defeats the warnIng. I actually like the Genny LDWS better than the 2011 5-Series I had. It allows more margin, so it is not alerting with the chirping sound constandly. The low audible level of the alarm is IMHO better than the vibrating steering wheel on the BMW. With the R-Spec, I use the LDWS on two-lane country roads.

So the seat belt tightens on the 2012 Genesis? I thought this was only on the Equus. Hmmm
