  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have any of you guys had your tcm updated on your r specs? If so did it help shift points etc? I had a 4.6 and after I got the tcm updated my shift point where much better. That car did not lag as much and would up shift sooner. I'm thinking of calling the dealer to get my car checked out for any recalls that may still need to get done. With my 4.6 I had to pay for the tcm update, I found that really stupid.

My R-spec is still box stock and I've had no issues with shift points. The only thing re: the transmission I find odd is when backing it seems to need more gas than starting out forward. It isn't as sensitive to engine RPM's in reverse as in forward gears.
