If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. So I bought my used 2012 Genesis with the tech package about 3 months ago and for the most part I love it. But in the past few weeks my windshield wipers stopped working, my backup camera went crazy/fuzzy a bunch of times, the drivers side window switch wasn't working for the passenger side window at all, and I have moisture in one of my taillights. Luckily I took it in to the dearlership today (after a 2 week wait for an appt) and everything is covered under warranty, although they had to order every single part so I have to wait for them all to come in to get everything fixed. Good thing it hasn't been too rainy around here and I put rainx on the windows.

Are these common issues with the Genesis? I just don't get how a 2 year old car with 27k miles on it has all these electronics issues. Hoping nothing like this starts happening after my warranty runs out at 60k.

No not really.

  • wipers - 1st time I've heard of that
  • backup camera - uncommon issue but it happens. A few folks have had them replaced.
  • window switches - rare issue
  • moisture in tail light - also a rare issue

What surprises me most however, is the 2 week wait for a service appointment! Where are you and what dealer is that who couldn't get you in for 2 weeks?!

PS - update your profile (you no longer drive one in your dreams)

Yeah I was kind of thrown back by that seeing that windshield wipers are a pretty important safety item to have not working.

It was Conicelli Hyundai in Conshohocken, PA right outside of Philly. Other than the wait though, everything else was a good experience.

Wonder why all these electronic issues are happening though, weird.

My 09 had the window trouble and no sound from the radio in 2 months of ownership(all workout fine after I restart the car). No wipers and rear camera problems. Knock on wood since I don't have any warranties.
