  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well I have been a fairly happy owner of my R spec for over a year but have decided mainly due to the pathetic service of my local dealership that I am done with this car. I am moving on to a slightly used LS 460 which gets me the same payment but in my mind a much better vehicle. On a side note does anyone know if you purchase a used Equus still under warranty if the valet service still applies? It's been a pleasure to be a part of this community.

Sorry to hear, can you elaborate on the service issues that have driven to change. Were they just local service quality issues?

Also, are Lexus LS460 used prices down to the point of Hyundai payments - lease or buy?

Payment yes. But what was total cost difference of purchase, including finance cost, dealer fees, tax etc ?

I literally have to drive to my dealership to make a service appt. etc. They don't answer the phone and do not call back. I have had various discussions with the manager and he seems to care less. I have talked to many other people I know that have the same issues. There is not another dealership close by either. I haven't had many issues other than buttons breaking off and leather issue on drivers seat. I have been trying to get drivers seat fixed ever since I had 2,000 miles on her. Now I have 22k. As for fees I'm trading through Carmax as they seem to have the best prices on used ls 460s which I was shocked. So no fees excepts title, tag and a small bit of taxes due to trade. I am losing about 3k on the R Spec but it is worth it for me to depart my hyundai days. Love the car, hate everything else about that company. Just my two cents though. And yes Carmax has a 2010 ls with 23k on her in great condition for $39 which a bit less than I paid for the R Spec.

39k difference? wow

No. It is a 2010 with 23k mikes for $39,000. The dealer is in Franklin, TN. I was sitting in the waiting room one day and the whole room was complaining about their service. Crazy.

Talk to your local district manager. If not Call Hyundai corporate. There are people that are very concerned about this issue at Hyundai Customer Service in the USA here in Costa Mesa - they will light a fire under someone's ass

Seems to me that he has already decided to replace his Hyundai with another car, and besides, it is not his job to do the what someone at HMA should have been doing a long time ago (monitoring the customer satisfaction at their dealerships). I am pretty sure there is only one Hyundai dealer in Franklin TN, so everyone should know by now.

It's so strange how service is so different from one dealership to the next. Having been in the retail car business 11 years of my life since retired), I saw some of the absolute worst service writers and a few excellent service writers. After all, the service writers are the first (and lots of times only) contact the customer has with the service department.

Were it not for the excellent customer service I get from my service writer, I'd be climbing all over the service manager, used car manager, and if I could get to the owner, I'd have climbed all over him too.

My Genesis has been in the shop 7 times before today, this is the 8th time and I bought the car in July of 2013. Most of the problems have been minor to moderate inconveniences, a couple or three recalls, and only one trip for service. My service writer has always taken excellent car of me, has me a loaner car available every time unless it's going to be less than a 2 hour wait, which I just hang around and drink coffee and watch tv, oh and chat with other customers. No one has yet complained (in my presence) about the service at this dealership. But, should I continue to have these issues with my Genesis, I'll be getting rid of it sooner than later. I only drive 5K-6K/yr and was hoping this might be my last vehicle. Time will tell.

Anywho, sorry you have crappy service, wish you all could have a service writer/department as good as mine. :D

p.s. I can even make an appointment online...... no need to call unless I just wanna' or if I need a question answered.

Oh yeah. And no loaners or car washes or anything extra. And this dealership is in the nicest part of Nashville. It's pretty amazing.

That would not be acceptable for me. I get a loaner if they only need my car for more than 2 hours. I would find another dealer.
