  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got Note 4 and I get this message almost every time 5-7 after starting the car. The BT icon on the phone shows as it is still connected. When disconnecting and reconnecting from the phone, BT on the phone appears to be resetting. I exchanged the phone, same issue so this must be the car. Dealership is next... Anyone with this issue ?

Erase the connection from you phone and try again as new connection.

Had done this many times, reset phone, even replaced the phone

Is you unit touch screen? Can you see is you have the SDS software available?
Do you have warranty on the car?

DIS is not a touch screen, I have a knob. I have the warranty and will go to the dealer this week, but I doubt I will be successful as the phone is new. Wondering if anyone has the same issue.

Did you get the message 5 to 7 min after you started the car? Or is been happen like 5 or 7 times?

I do service in those units and I will like to know If I can help. If is the Software missing on the unit I don't think the dealer can help but if you got warranty what they can do is swap the unit. If you need my services just go to my site at www.jpautosound.com.

The message comes up 5-7 min after connection, 50% of the time. I will try to get to the dealer this week. How can you help?

Its a bug in the Samsung Bluetooth stack. Basically, the phone cannot properly handle the low power mode and crashes/resets.

Which software you can look at, phone or car?

i have the same thing happen with both iPhone 5 and old Sanyo flip phone when changing towers and the coverage goes from LTE to 3G. i can show you a 1 mile range of highway where it happens every time. so it may not be the phone.

for some reason, the head unit loses connection to the phone but the phone thinks it's gone into "private mode" and doesn't hang up the call.

BT connection can be manually reestablished by selecting Private Mode from the phone menu, then switching back to BT mode.

1. Delete all the connection in the car then turn BT off. after the system says they all are gone shut your car all the way off.
2. Go into phone and delete the cars connection (should be called Genesis) after its gone turn off BT in the phone. turn your phone off and let it sit for a minute or 2.
3. leave your car off for about 2 minutes
4. turn on phone and start your car (engine running).
5. go into phone settings and turn BT on and put the phone into scan mode.
6. go into car settings and turn BT on and search for new connection.
7. after phone is connected go into cars settings and make the connection priority
8. on the phone go into BT settings. Genesis should be in there. touch the settings wheel next to genesis
9. check the box next to phone, make sure media or music is not checked.

By doing this the car will make your phone priority and your phone will only try to use the BT connection for the phone and not media.

My phone and car have been getting along fine since i did this.

Sorry iphone people. I dont think this will work for you all.

I have the Note 4 and a 2013 base trim. Once my bluetooth connects it stays connected without a problem.

Though I will sporadically get "pairing failed" from the car so I have to delete my phone out of the cars system and then re-pair it. This method works ever time but it's starting to piss me off because I'm doing it 2-5 times a week. I think it's caused by my SD card randomly unmounting and then remounting itself

I have a Note 4 and 2014 base trim - same problem! I don't even have an SD card in the phone, so it's probably not it... Have you ever found a solution?
