  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012...

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
John Kafcik indicated in his chat this past week on HyundaiThinkTank that Genesis pricing would be released in June. I assume that that means that 2012 will not arrive in showrooms until then.

Nope - dealers need to know what to charge for the product - I'm sure they will receive the invoices ahead of time, and that won't happen until pricing is announced.

It's really frustrating when manufacturers string you along like this. First it was "this spring"; then, it was "definitely arriving in May, June for the R spec". Now it's "June".

I understand if you want to release something new to the public without problems from the get-go... but why the delay? Is something wrong with the car? I can't think there's much going on with the 3.8 and 4.6... since those engines are tried and true. I heard there were issues with the 5.0, but nothing was confirmed. Is it the suspension tuning? Is it the new 8-speed transmission? Are they trying to build up inventory at release date? Are they just building up hype/interest?

Who knows.

I work for a Hyundai Dealer in Chicago; we just received pricing sheets last week for 2012 Genesis. The holdup has to do with Hyundai's impending releases. 2012 Accent/Elantra have already shipped; 2012 Sonata is next, and then 2012 Genesis...hang tight, its almost here!

I will post the Msrp from the pricing sheets; there are no invoices available just yet ...

Thanks bigrig!

Nice find elohb! Just as expected... the price went up a couple hundred bucks (not bad!).

This doesn't talk to the optional equipment on the R-spec. Wonder how much the updated rubber will run.... that is the only "option" on the 5.0.

I'm thinking we can probably do better elsewhere, no?

To summarize elohb's post:

3.8 MSRP = $34,200 + $850 destination charge (Premium package $4,800 - Technology package: $4,000)
4.6 MSRP = $44,500 + $850 destination charge
5.0 MSRP = $46,500 + $850 destination charge (upgraded tire package pricing TBD)

NOTE: UNCONFIRMED ;)

A couple of hundred? $1,200!:(

Oh you noticed that, eh?

Small price to pay for the new features and updates! Okay, maybe not. But still... at least the R Spec isn't $49,999.99

Almost 50 large for a Genesis?
R Spec better be damn good with suspension issues all worked.
Do we know if tranny will blip throttle on downshifts?

It appears the 3.8 is going up $1200 and the 4.6 is going up $1500. However, the 2012 Genesis will have some new features. And it will still be priced $20,000 less than a comparably equipped BMW or Mercedes.
