  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchased less than 1 month ago w/ premium & tech packages. GPS froze after about 1 week, radio would not tune, bluelink would not work. Dealer said the could not find a problem. Re-occurred yesterday. Back to dealer this morning. They are ordering new head unit. Service mgr says he has heard of this issue before. Same problem also keeps the bluelink from recognizing who I am, even though initially registered. Hard to believe this happens to a car with less than 600 miles.

It's the electronics - The Genesis is a GR8 Car...
It only takes one small piece of the electronics to ruin the whole unit..
It's under Warranty - sh** happens..........
Smile & move On..

I agree - under warranty, no problem. However, dealer advises it will take approx. 5 weeks to get the unit shipped in. Can't figure that one out.

I had the same issue with my previous 2009 Azera. Wiring harness went out after about 6 weeks ownership. Took 28 days to get a new one because the factory would not take one from production to replace my defective item.

I am very dis-appointed with the radio, 13 mos old but out of warranty, XM doesn't hold memory when the car is shut off. They want 3200.00 to replace unit head, I guess I've owned my last Hyundai - stay away they have no customer service!

Who told you the radio has a one year warranty?

If you bought your car new the radio/nav/stereo system should have a 36 month warranty.

If, in fact, your unit is indeed out of warranty and you don't want to retune XM each time just buy an in-car tuner and plug it into the aux plug. Whole lot cheaper than replacing the entire head unit.

36 month or 36K miles, whichever comes first. I believe that is transferable to include pre-owned cars also.

Update to original posts - dealer was able to pull a Nav unit from another '13 Genesis and replace mine in about an hour. So far, so good. Since then I have received 3 calls from Hyundai asking if everything was OK now. Nice!

Wow! That's cool. Maybe Hyundai has decided it's customer service program needed improvement. One can hope! :grouphug:
