If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,
I recently purchased genesis.
After establishing Bluetooth connection, I realized that my Nexus 5 doesn't have the media audio option enabled.

I did some googling and found out that 2012 models doesn't support bluetooth streaming.

Does anybody have same model and uses bluetooth streaming feature?

Correct. The '12 Tech package equipped cars do not stream BT audio. Basic and Premium package models do stream BT audio. Do you have a '12? Your title says '13.

Mine is 2013.

But the manual doesn't talk about streaming.
Manual is printed on 2010/05 meaning the contents haven't been changed since.
I guess they didn't put that feature in?

Why did you ask about the '12 then?

The '13 Tech package does have streaming BT audio.

Sorry for the confusion.
I was just referencing.

I'm in my car but having hard to streaming. Both my nexus 5 and galaxy s2 sees genesis as phone only device. Stereo option is disabled.

This is very strange.
My 2013 Sonata worked just fine. Not sure why this is happening.

Does the 2011 3.8 tech have bluetooth streaming?

Sorry, no it does not. You can buy this to stream Bluetooth, works well but it does require being recharged after about 5-6 hours of use. I had one in my 2010 Genesis and it transmits through the armrest with no issue:

That is really strange that it does not have bluetooth streaming

I've tried 7 different devices but so far no good.

I've contacted local dealer, and they are certain that bluetooth streaming works.

I'll update the post once I get a chance to drop by the shop.

Bluetooth streaming DOES work on the 2013 models. I have a 2013 R-Spec and a Galaxy S3 phone and they work together like this:

  • My GS3 automatically connects and syncs when I get in the car and start up. Music will start to play as soon as I select Bluetooth Audio with the DIS knob.
  • I can control volume up/down and previous/next track via the round button on the steering wheel. I can also pause/restart via the DIS knob. The display shows track name, artist name and phone name.
My R-Spec has the same audio system as your Tech pkg so they should work just the same. If it doesn't, it's broken.

I went to a local dealer.
They did some testing and told me that they can't fix it.

So they will change the entire audio unit.

Thanks everyone for helping me out!
