  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Started out on a 250 mi trip yesterday. I really like the adaptive cruise control so once I got out of heavy traffic turned it on no issue. Started snowing sleeting no real issue since ground is +50 and temp 37+. It clicked off with the red error light. I assumed it was due to the sensor not liking all of the water. Once I drove out of the rain and was on dry highway it would still not work. I stopped, shut the car completely off and tried it again, it worked for about 15 miles then the error again.

Finished the trip w/o it working. Got up this morning to return (cold 18) clear dry and it would not work. Stopped for lunch +1 hour still would not work. Got home the car sat for a couple of hours took it out for a test drive at 60mph and the damn thing works now.

36K completely loaded 2013 now what? Called the dealer and they said bring it in but sure as hell it will work any ideas?

Dirty distance sensor?

Could be - just odd that it stopped (wet) started again (road dry)
next morning and all trip (dry road) it would not work. Then same day starts working again.

Since not a lot of responses I guess this is not a frequent problem.

Some snow/sleet/ice likely built up on the sensor. I had the same thing happen last winter with mine. Next day (after sitting in an above freezing garage, it worked fine.

I have the same issue with my car when the sensors get covered with snow and ice, or heavy road dirt. After the sensors are cleaned it always goes back to working fine.

My 13 tech package has 20k miles and cruise has worked perfectly till about 2 weeks ago.

Sunny cold day, no rain, no snow it and stopped working. Pulled over to side of road, turned car off and restarted. Worked perfectly for 50 miles and did it again. Restarted car and it has been working perfectly since.

Very strange
