  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2013 Genesis that is less than 2 weeks old. When I go into the car, the FM radio presets do not work. I can only change the channel by sliding the knob instead of turning it (like i used to be able to do). But when you slide the knob, it just moves to the next radio station, not the next preset. If i turn off the car with the radio on and turn it back on, no sound comes out unless i tune it to a new station.

I have no issues with playing music from my ipod, listening to XM, or making phone calls using the voice commands. I called the dealer that I bought the car from and they said they may need to replace the unit. Quite troubling since this car is less than 2 weeks old with 200 miles on it.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I don't recall that particular problem being posted before, but there have been a fair number of other problems with the audio system. Each time, the dealers can usually only replace the entire head unit, or the entire amplifier unit, which would normally cost about $3000 if not under warranty.

The warranty for the audio/video/GPS unit is 3 years/ 36K miles, so if you plan on keeping your car for a long time, you might want to consider getting the official Hyundai factory 10 year / 100K Platinum warranty add-on from a dealer that will cover everything in the car for that period. Expect to be quoted an outrageous fee of $3K or more, but you should be able to get extended factory warranty (sold by any Hyundai dealer, including some online) for about $1,200 or less.

I am having a problem with the FM/AM radio stations. I get no sound from them if I have the HD checked in the menu. If I uncheck it works perfect. It just started yesterday and haven't taken to dealer yet.

The XM,Ipod, hard drive work perfect regardless of the HD status. Anyone have any ideas???

thanks

I have the same problem.

Do you know how to pull the fuse and put it back in? You have to let it put for over a minute. That's what the dealer did for my radio.

What I find amazing about Hyundai's radio problems is that they hit when the car is brand new. Mine was one week old when I lost audio. I've read numeorus other owners having problems right away. I can't imagine the problems owners will have 3, 4 5, 6 years down the road.

An electronics warranty is an absolute must if you plan to keep the car for a long time.
