  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everybody,

I just changed oil on my 2013 genesis 3.8 V6. When I ordered an oil filter for my car, the dealer sold me a filter with 26330-3C250 part number written on the top of the filter. When I took out the old oil filter, I noticed that it looked little different, it says 26330-3C300 on the top of the filter. I just used 26330-3C250 filter anyways, since the dealer was closed for sundays. Should I be worried at all? Should I change out the 26330-3C250 filter with 26330-3C300 when the dealer opens Monday?

Do they look identical?

As you can see, they are a bit different at the top. But total length and diameter is about the same.

I would take it back and get the correct one. The one you got is for the older V6 with oil filter on top of engine bay.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I already installed it in the car. so I cannot return it anymore. But do you think it is necessary for me to change it with the new one? Or do you think it is okay for me to drive it with the old V6 filter installed on the car?

I think it is OK to drive it for a little while, but I would change it. There is a lot on controversy about whether they are interchangeable, but for warranty purposes, I would not assume that they are.

I guess, I will probably pick up a filter from the dealer tomorrow and change it for a peace of mind. Damn, all the new oil is gonna go to waste....oh well..
So what is the part number that I am looking for? The kit that has all the o rings and everything?

Just bought a 2013 Genesis 3.8. I have noticed on the forum that it seems as if everybody has bought the oil filter from Hyundai. For those who change the oil themselves, is there anybody on the forum who has not used the Hyundai product? Anybody using Fram or other name brand filters?

I use the OEM Hyundai or Beck/Arnley #041-0846 which is the exact same filter as the one that was in your car (the one with white ends and made by Mahle) just is a different label on the box. I order the Beck/arnley online from Advance Auto Parts. Amazon also has it, just type in Beck/Arnley #041-0846
