If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey folks,

just recently purchased a 2013 Genesis premium which has 18 inch wheels and I'll need to purchase a second set of wheels for winter tires. Before I do a bunch of research I figure that someone here probably already has the answers.

Are there any Hyundai/Kia wheels which would fit the 2013 Genesis? ie. Sonata/Optima or Sante Fe.
Are there any wheels from other OEM's that have the same specs as the Genesis wheels?
Does the 2013 Genesis, in particular Canadian models, have TPMS sensors in the wheel? I've read on the forum in other threads that the Canadian vehicles didn't have sensors but that was with respect to older years 2009/2010.
If the Canadian 2013 Genesis has sensors are they shared with other Hyundai/Kia vehicles?

Thanks

If you're in US, near Chicagoland, I have a set of wheels with snow tires for sale. I'd keep them but they won't fit second generation of Genesis.

I'm a little too far in Calgary Alberta. I'm looking for studded winter tires which you probably don't have.

I have a Canadian 2012 R Spec. It does not have TPM sensors in the wheels. It uses ABS to determine if one wheel has a smaller diameter, and therefor less pressure ,than the others.

I can tell you the 18" off a Gen 1 V6 car won't clear the front calipers of a Gen 1 V8 car. I bought 5mm spacers to see if that will solve the problem. You may find buying new aftermarket wheels are less expensive.

Were you able to sell your tires+wheels? I have a set too and am interested in selling them. Wondering about the best way to sell them.

I replied to your post in Illinois thread. No, still have mine, I only posted them on Craigslist locally. I didn't post them here on forum.

You need to get 17" or larger wheels for the brake assembly to fit in the wheel with the 3.8. 18" for the V8 I think (not sure about that) so no steelies.

I got 17s because they were the cheapest and the fat tire absorbs potholes caused by plowing. I covered them with PlastiDip so they don't get destroyed by the salt.

I used www.tirerack.com to get my wheels and snow tires. You can search by car type and they'll show you which wheels fit.
If you visit from a non mobile platform you can see the different kind of wheels on a picture of your car so you know what they will look like, and you know they'll fit.
You can get TPMS sensors from there too,the tire and TPMS sensor will come mounted on the rim, balanced, inflated, and ready to go.

TPMS sensors aren't required but you'll always have the warming light on in the gauge cluster area if you don't have them.
If you do get TPMS sensors for your winter wheels, there is nothing special you'll have to do to get them to pair with the car, they will automatically pair up with the car after 15 or 20 minutes of driving.

That's about all there is to it.

I bought my winter wheels and tires from Tire Rack. Whatever sensors they used worked.
