  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A dealer near me is offering 44K (62K MSRP) for 2014 Equus Signature brand new . Should I take it at this point or look around for a better deal?. Please advise.

thanks!

If you want an Equus, I would take it.

Thanks Mark. Dealer topped with another 2k off the price I mentioned earlier that made me take it. At 20K+ discount over MSRP or sticker price I thought it was a good buy.

I will post the pictures soon. This will be my first hyundai.

You got a great deal. I'm waiting in line for those pictures. :)

This is a good price, no questions about it but, check the production date! the Equus might be 2 years old, means it could be a 2014 model but manufactured in ~ March 2013...who knows?

So what? I assume he knows the mileage, and if mileage is acceptable what difference does the manufacture date make?

He posted it's a brand new car, I assume there is no mileage on it.
Well, for me it makes difference, if the car was build in let's say first quarter of 2013 - than it's a 2 years old and I would expect the price to be lower.
In this point I don't care if this is 2014 model. That's all.

I just double checked production date and it was in May 2014 and car only has 120 miles when I first test drove it. I know typically it takes few months from production date to actually make it into dealerships…so I know for a fact it has n't sat in a parking lot or in a garage for years.

Outstanding deal. An Equus for the price of a Genesis! And a HUGE protection for resale value. You bought new for the price of used.

I really don't think you're going to find a better deal. Grab this Equus before somebody else does...

I did and its sitting in my garage already. Took a little road trip this morning for 70 mile trip local(20%) and highway(80%)…and got an average of 24.4 miles per Gallon with AC on. It certainly beat my expectations on mileage for a v8 engine weighing over 5500 lbs. Lexicon sounded great.

Congrats!

Now, pictures or it didn't happened!

:D

Congratulations! Awaiting pictures. :)

Very nice. I hope it stays new looking for a long, long time. :)

Gorgeous car, great deal! I would add the Korean badging to the front and remove the flying H from the back and add the back Korean badging as well. I had my dealer do it before I picked up my 2015 a few weeks ago. I had said earlier, this is my 2nd Equus and I think the 2012 was the best car I have ever had. Enjoy!

Would you mind sharing who that dealer was?

Question please: A similar MY2014 vehicle, but classified as "USED"....with total of 250 miles (shows as a Hyundai Fleet Vehicle), is available for a similar price (~$42K) from a dealer. The date of manufacture on that is 10/2013. MSRP $61K

What may be the pros/cons of a "used" vehicle like that?

Also, how would you compare the above to a MY2015 Equus Ultimate, similar "Used" with similar 200 miles on it (shows as a Hyundai Fleet Vehicle), available for $51K? The date of manufacture on that is 08/2014. MSRP: 68K. Which one would be a better buy from a value perspective...for later resale (say 4-5 yrs out).

Thanks

Hard to say on the value. They are both similar in discount. I know for sure though that an Ultimate is a lot more rare on the used market and therefor they seem to command a greater price than the difference you are noting here. At least that is what I have seen.

The Ultimate is a very nice ride. But only if you need/want all of the extra bells and whistles. Like the soft door closure, the auto trunk, the rear seating area luxuries, the full TFT display, etc.
