  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2014 Genesis or Not

Assuming they addressed the issues, what do you think would be a fair offer?

A brand new car with a water leak? Zero $ would be my fair offer - I'd pass on inheriting that issue based on my experience with Hyundai service so far!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
yes if you are getting a g1 genesis, get the R spec, and I would not pay no more than 20k for the r spec, or for any g1 for that matter.

the G2 base models will probably start going for 28k in the used car market in about 3 to 6 months, so not worth paying more than 20k for any g1.

and I believe hyundai still has a a bunch of brand new 2014 g1 genesis that hasn't sold, so that cannot help resale at all.

I would suggest playing coy, and disinterested. Throw out a number like 23 to 24k, before you leave. Let it stew for a week...in case they come back with a counter. If they do not, you can always call them back after the week and enquire how is it going, and talk about everything but the car...Ideally you want to let them bring it up, and go from there. Think about 26 to 27 k may make sense as the final price. Also, do know that they will not have an easy time selling this anyway, so you do have leverage. Best of luck.

BTW, should a car fax indicate any title issued or not?

I am skeptical of the dealer's response on the start date of the car being placed in service and corresponding warranty. If you insist on this car, check the vin # with the state dept. of motor vehicles to make certain that it has not been previously titled.

With the asking price and current problems, I would run, not walk, from this poor car.
