  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan R-Spec Tires

I've been running on 255/40/19 Michs Pilot Sport A/s 3+ for 2 years with 20k and really enjoy them. Great turn in, smooth ride , reduced rear wheel slip upon hard acceleration, ok in snow, but sightly noisy after 15K. Got rid of the 245/45 Contis when they began to burst the side walls after 25K.
Has anyone given thought to the Hankook Ventus Evo 2s! I’m running them staggered on my ‘13 and love them. I don’t put a lot of miles on the car, after about 1000 miles, they stick like stink, are quiet and the wet traction is impressive. Summer only is OK for So. Florida.

Both good sets of tires. Consider going to the super sport pilots for some serious grip. Might be my next set. Or some Nitto Neogens. Might try the ventus if the price is right. At the moment I'm running BFGoodrich Sport Comp 2 all seasons 245/35/19 all around on 10.5" wheels

I am running 245/40/19s on 8” front, 285/30/19 on 9” rear. Aggressive stagger on the tires. Car wasn’t happy until we learned to work together.

Hi Are your rear tires flush with fender? And did you offset? I've been thinking about this same set up but with a 20" rear instead for my Sedan =))

I've got ~25k miles on my Michelin Pilot Super Sports since install in Jan 2017, and I'll get 5k more or so before they hit 3/32nds tread remaining. I'll be installing the newer version of these tiers: Michelin Pilot 4S when the time comes.

I am looking for better grip. I saw that "Roc" has 255/40/19 on the factory Rspec wheels. Is that the widest you could go on a 19x8 rim?
Acceleration currently suffers, car slips instantly. I bought cheap tires from Amazon around a year ago.
I am not looking to replace all 4. I was going to leave the front at 235/45/19. Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 All-Season Radial Tire - 235/45R19XL
Will a more expensive tire bring more grip?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I’m told that’s the widest to use with the R spec rims. The Micks have excellent grip and are unbelievably great in the rain. Never needs a rebalance. I don’t think they will reach 40k, but make up for it in overall satisfaction. The 4s might be even better. Tire Rack told me they will prorate any extra wear if I don’t reach 45k, so not sweating it. Will stick to Micks.

I put 255s all around on mine and they look and fit great!

Lots of meat, lots of traction!
