  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have not had this problem prior, and I was thinking it was could have been low Freon in the system however it appears something with the dampeners which are controlled by the temperature dials on the AC systems.

I've been able to reproduce what to do to resolve when the problem happens but not able to reproduce what's causing the problem in the first place.

Backing out of the drive way I had AC set to between 72-77
Leaving the house(Drive mode) I had turned the AC Dial to LOW

PLEASE Hyundai DON'T EVEN TRY TO TELL ME THAT I'M NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THE AC SET "LOW" [See Stereo Thread of 2015 3.8 Ultimate Stereo Issues]

I had noticed that the AC didn't feel as cold, yes it was a very hot day.
Thinking maybe it could have been low on Freon I had simply tried to turn off the AC completely and back on after a few seconds, however no resolution.

Got to work and when leaving work it was ICE cold again. Okay so maybe it was hot? Nope...

A few days goes by and the same problem happens again. So I tried the same thing turn the AC off and back on. No difference. This time I had also reached over and felt the passenger vents and it was ICE cold. Strange I said so to my amazement I had turned the Driver side temp to 88 and right back down to LOW and it started blowing ICE COLD Air. Great! So it's somehow a dampener issue or knob/computer related issue??!?

But I need to be able to reproduce it, which yes if you bring it to a dealership they will be like you're crazy and maybe even mention that you're not allowed to set it to LOW....

So it happens again 3rd time and again no difference I left the temp around 74-76 leaving the house and when get on the main road set it to 65(LOW), and again not so cold air from driver side, reached over COLD on passenger (The buttons are set to SYNC) so it should be the same temp. And yes, I'm using the Driver side AC Temp control knob not the passenger side... I yet again raise the temp to 88 Allowing it to blow hot for a brief second and right back down to LOW. Once again it starts blowing ICE Cold again. I have over 26k miles on the car and have NOT had it for even 1 year yet... So has anyone else had this issue?

It has happened regardless of knob settings in the rear or regardless if the seat is set to heat or cool.

Why aren't we allowed to set the AC temp to low? I didn't know that.
