  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had the original battery of my 2015 3.8L V6 replaced yesterday, as the car was having serious trouble starting here in Nova Scotia this winter. Turns out it was reading just over 200CCA, so likely the cause of my trouble.

Now today, it had difficulty starting and then sort of SHOOK when it finally started. I've now also noticed that the lights on my illuminated door sills are flickering when I unlock the car and open the door (even before I start the engine).

Does this sound like perhaps the tech didn't connect the battery properly? Or the terminals are dirty, etc? This wouldn't be the alternator if it's happening before I even start the car?

Here's a quick video of the flickering door sills with the car off - IMG_6235.MOV

did you get a genuine Genesis battery?

strange, mine being replaced several days ago. gone dead at once.
after dealer installed new one no problems detected.
What you described can be from poor ground of the vehicle. I had similar issue many years ago on one KIA I owned

battery is in the trunk next to the spare tyre, you can check the cables if they are well mounted

Yes, seems fine there. Very odd.
Did you pull on each cable near the battery post to try to turn the clamp (clockwise and counter-clockwise)? There should be no movement at all.

To be honest, I had the tech check it at Hyundai two days after they installed the battery (the day after I started seeing the issues). I figured best to let them see it rather than me, at least at first.
