Supply may vary by dealer or region. I do not get the sense that there is an unusual oversupply of new 2013s and 2014 still lingering on the lots around me. They have some, but it seem comparable to what I have seen on lots over the years a few months after a new model was introduced.
Also, there is not a $35K Audi, Lexus, BMW, or MB that compares to the 1st gen Genesis. Sure, they all offer new cars in that range, but they are either are substantially smaller or they are lacking most of the features that someone would want in a premium car. To get to the Genesis price point, you have to shop for a 2-3 year old A6, GS350, 535i, or E350. For many buyers, after sitting in both, they prefer the Genesis and the fact it is new.
