I think this may be the other way around. A modestly appointed A4/328/C400 would have sold for a lot more money than its 1st gen Genesis counterpart. So, while they may be a little more used, it is not that much more. So, the small Euro cars appear to have been killed by depreciation. Don't think about depreciation against MSRP-- base it on what people likely paid.At least the catastrophic downward spiral of resale value has been factored into the price... 2010 Audi A4, BMW 3 series and Mercedes C class are bringing higher prices on the used market than similar year used Genesis and they are supposed to be a class below it.
Say you got a discounted 2010 4.6 for around $40K, and it is selling 4 years later for around $20K. That is pretty stinking good.
