  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Chrysler 300 Platinum

I have had my Genesis for a few months (3.8 Ultimate AWD) and love the car. I was always intrigued with the 300 but did not look at it closely because of size (just too big) and reliability quality reports.
Just rented a 300 and while it was not a Platinum or loaded car I was generally unimpressed. Interior design looked dated and not very premium looking.
Visibility was not good (bad blind side). The bass on the stereo was crazy. Even when turned down significantly it dominated the sound. The ride quality was good however.
Not really a fair comparison but I had not driven the 300 for a few years and found little difference with the 'new' car. Left my several hundred mile drive satisfied I did not consider this car more seriously. JMHO

+1, according to Consumer Reports, Chrysler least reliable vehicle in their entire line up is the 300 and god knows this must be bad because Chryslers makes some pretty bad $hit. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...index.htm?loginMethod=auto&copyrightYear=2014

Anything made by the Fiat-Chrysler group right now is on my short list of hell no cars. The 500 is near the top of that list. I see the same sorts of problems with this car all the time at work. The tranny is suspect, the trim quality is poor and there's a plastic shifter linkage that breaks on all of them. The car is over priced IMHO and if you look at quality studies you will see the FCG as a whole are at the bottom of those lists and the 500 is not a very well built or designed car.

I seem to be in the small group that find the exterior design of the 300C quite nice. The interior of this latest generation is good enough for me but I'd much rather have the Genesis.
I prefer the Genesis styling.
As well.

I had the new 300 as a rental a couple months ago. It was actually really nice.... I have to say i was impressed. It was comfortable, quiet, smooth, well laid out, handled well and felt confident on the road.

But unfortunately Dodge's reputation precedes it... and the added issues of Diamler's influence on the previous generation with known dodgy components and reliability issues do not help it. Trying hard not to take that into consideration - the Genny still wins out, in my opinion.

That was a rental. Imagine a top of the line model? The Genesis still wins but that doesn't make the 300 bad at all. The Genesis is just THAT good. Even the first generation 300 (of recent years) was nice - but the second generation is a big improvement.

I just came from a loaded '13 300c lux. All loaded out.

The 300 is nice, but after 24k miles, lots of squeaks and rattles. HAd an alightment issue the dealer could never fix. Other than that, a great car.

Just picked up a '15 genesis signature yesterday. I think the genesis is a big step up in overall quality and refinement.

I am in michigan, and so 300's are a dime a dozen. The genesis is unique.

The genesis is quieter, rides better and the interior feels better/ better made.

The 19 speaker H/K sound system is much better than the genesis lexicon

The 300 is roomier in front, genesis is roomier in back.

It's a shame we keep hearing how the new Genesis stereo system isn't as impressive as it used to be.

The 300C is a nice car but the Genesis is certainly higher on the luxury scale...

Yeah - I have to say it isn't even as good as the Infinity system in my 2011 Azera. the first thing I will be doing if I get the Genny is changing out the stereo.

Did you customize the audio system in your Azera as well?

My '09 Genesis was about the same as my '15.

The SRT H/K 19 speaker stereo in the 300 is a pretty amazing thing for a stock system. It played so loud that my ears hurt. Good solid bass too. Gives you a nice kick in the chest.

Nope. Stock except for the center speaker in the dash. It was just too harsh in the midrange

It's a shame that the second generation Genesis has had so many stereo complaints.

That sounds like my kind of audio system. I don't need it to sound like Bach is in my living room. I like power...

Not to nitpick - but that is actually not the trait of a good soundsystem. :) This is part of why I run Genelec studio reference monitors on my computer at home. Good speakers (and amps) can play incredibly loud without hurting your ears. No matter how loud these go - the are amazingly clear, precise and pleasing to listen to. However - that kind of quality comes at a premium price. But - as I am in the business of critical listening in my 2nd life outside of the real job - it is worth every penny. :)

I am the same way, with Emotiva Airmotiv 5s and a Fiio DAC on my PC, PSB and Thiel with a rotel receiver in the living room, Time Window 7's with B&K Component amps in the theater.

I have been a musician for over 25 years and have played with OZZY & Zakk, Buddy Guy, Matt Murphy and Satriani.

A car is not the spot for critical listening.

In my car, I turn up "Welcome to the Jungle" and rock out...
