Currently have a 2015 Equus signature. I'm really serious about swapping out the hood decal for the hood ornament. Has anyone had the flat emblem removed and replaced with the hood ornament? Sounds like the emblem is in place with double sided tape while the hood ornament will need to be bolted down.
 
Yes it needs a hole drilled through the hood. Its a flat badge, not a decal, and can be removed by using WD40, a hair dryer and dental floss.

What happens when the first jerk comes along and snaps it off the hood.

Rolls-Royce has a retractable to prevent that and make sure the Spirit of Ecstasy remains intact.
 
I love the looks of it but I think MrB0462 is right. Some idiot is going to rip it off. There are too many jealous people in the world...
 
I've had my 2014 S550 MB ornament ripped off twice. Sucks.
 
a good friend of mine had someone try to steal his "RAM" ornament, but it was bolted on pretty good. Below the hood was a steal big plate and the bolt used was a pretty big gauge.
