Leaving a shopping center on Wednesday Nov 27, 2019, I back out of my parking space, placed the Genesis in "D" Drive and I did not feel the transmission engage. I pressed accelerator, the car did not go forward and the engine revved up. In addition, after taking my foot off the accelerator, the RPMs continued to climb until I place the car back in Park.
1. Transmission will not engage when in D 'Drive"
2. Reverse is working as advertised
3. After pressing then releasing accelerator in D position, the RPMs continue to climb settling in at about 2,500 even though the accelerator is no longer being pressed.
I repeated placing the car in Park and drive with no success
I attempted manual shifting with no success
I shut the car completely off and repeated the above steps several times with no success
The vehicle is currently at the dealer being diagnosed. Updates to come...
****Update****
I was contacted by the service department and they are REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION with a new one. It will take about a week to get one in.
