  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis 5.0 vs Jeep SRT8

The V8 is not all that impressive when compared to other brands of similar hp from a standstill HOWEVER when the speed gets up there and you punch her, my oh my is all I can say. :D

I wish there were viable tuning options for the 5.0.... soon :-)

That CTS-V has 640hp, and a 4.3 second 0-60 time is actually unimpressive considering the amount of power that thing has. The latest Mercedes S400 coupe with just 367hp can do 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and its also heavier than the CTS-V. I've noticed GM cars need huge power to match the acceleration of many cars with considerably less power.

To add a potentially relevant data point, all of the German triumvirate tends to under-rate their power numbers.

A friend of mine who works at a tuning shop with a dyno has told me that BMW and Mercedes are well-known for underrating the power of their cars and that you are more likely to find more optimistic quotes from American makes (particularly GM and Chrysler).
