Hello,
I'm having issues with my vehicle which started most recently 9 days out of warranty. Below, is a chronological event of my issues. Does anyone have any ideas? My check Engine Light (CEL) keeps coming on.
March 2020 - CEL comes on. Dealership scans and code P0440 comes up and states that the "Canister Closed Valve" is periodically sticking and the replace part #3140B1500. Resolves issue.
October 29, 2020 - CEL comes on 9 days out of warranty. My mechanic scans it and P0456 comes up (Small Evap Leak). System tested and seems to be operating normally. They replaced the gas cap as I had pre-emptively purchased one from Hyundai as mine looked a little sketchy,
November 2020 - 2 days later, my CEL comes on. My mechanic scans it and P0456 comes up. He smoke tests it and it appears to be leaking through the fuel filler neck. Fuel filler neck replaced. Appears sealed and clears code. Part #31030-B1500
November 2020 - 2 days later my CEL comes back on. I'm taking it back to my mechanic later today.
I'm thinking when the original CEL came on in March 2020, while the vehicle was under warranty, is the root cause of my curent issues but I have no way to prove it. P0442 and P0456 codes are both related to the Evap system. Does anyone have any idea's or information to offer?
This car has been very reliable until now. I wanted to keep it but I can't keep sinking money into this. Should I try and get Hyundai to cover it under the premise that it's all related to the original P0442 code?
Thanks,
