Does anyone know what the mechinism inside the trunk lid is for. I was thinking it was for a collapsable umbrella, but i am not sure. It is located on the underside of the trunk lid itself. It has a detent in the trunk lid liner along with a bracket type fastener made of plastic with a sponge insert.

Any help would be appreciated.

From what I have read here on this forum, and other places, the clip os for a foldable emergency triangle. Hope this helps.
