  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought the new 2015 Genesis, how do I use the voice command for the navigation. The dealer only had the one I bought and they don't know how to use it yet, so if anyone know please let me know.
Thanks.

In the simplest terms, you pusha da button and then you speaka da voice.

What? Strange. After you learn it, you'll see it doesn't work well (in regard to entering addresses as destinations). Just played with it again this morning...it's really bad. Doesn't hear you sometimes and usually gets the wrong address.

Another reason why CarPlay will be better when on the car later this year. Siri adapts to the cars road noise and your voice making commands easier.

I was one of the first to buy the 2009 Genesis. Probably should not make the same mistake twice.. Another reason not to buy the first MY of any car. I know its GEN2, but its basicaly a brand new design and make with the same name. With all these post I just might wait another year.

This is noted in another forum here. I test drove one, and couldn't get it to recognize any voice command addresses, very disappointing for a car like this.

In the post, there is a phone number to call to let them know about this problem. I'll re-post it, once I find it.

Thanks guys, I speak the address according to the manual and it still doesn't work. You are right, it doesn't recognize your voice commands. Hope they fix this sooner than later.

I've since spoke with a few folks who test drove the car and loved it, minus this issue. I and 2 of these folks, won't purchase the car until the is a fix.

I'm an on-the-road salesman and being able to speak an address is VERY important to me. The others said "I'm not paying that much for a car, to have something not work"!

Purchased a 2015 Ultimate 6 cyl. Voice commands do not work with the navigation but do work with bluetooth phone. Notified Hyundai at the customer service number and was given a case number. Took the car to the dealer and they replaced the "Head Unit Assembly" part #96560-B157-4X.
Head Unit Assembly replaced this week and the voice recognition works about 80% of the time for navigation. Instructions for entering addresses are to say the numbers individually 2-0-4-0, but I am having more success saying 2040.

Saying a full street address and city works about 10% of the time. Very disappointing. Other voice commands are better.

When using voice commands to call somebody in my address book, I have pretty good luck. I notice that when using voice commands to call a person, voice command works better after the car is warmed up. Has anybody else noticed this?

I must have got the good one or its my British accent, mine works 99% of the time and my google search works 100% and I use that at least every day.

try using the blue-link button on the rear view mirror (the second button from the left). Another user recommended it. Google provides the search then sends to the car. Works flawlessly, at least the two times I tried it.

Do you have to pay extra (subscribe to a service) to use this feature.

Thanks

I'm having the same voice recognition problem with my brand new 2015 Tech. Dealer spoke to a Hyundai "engineer" who drives the same car. He said simply lower the mic volume to #2 and that should solve the problem. He apparently said this must be done when on the phone, not on navigation. Well, I did that and wound up not hearing the person on the phone!! Needless to say, I'm going to pay the dealer a visit next week. I'll let them play around with it!
