  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

All i want is to be able to remote start my car..
This whole bluelink 3 package thing and paying for a service i dont want/need is pissing me off! The additional fact that if i dont pay to to keep the equipment on, after its off for a while, it will cost around $500 to get it turned back on is total BS. I hope that class action suite teaches Hyundai a lesson. This is BS and i wont spend 45K on a car and then turn around and get gouged for about $1000 more just to start my car remotely.
Im waiting on a callback from Viper to see if their remote start will work on the 15 Genesis. got my fingers crossed.

I agree. I think all the remote services should come free. I'm trying to figure it out, and I can only guess is that the subscription money goes to pay for the cell service that the car uses to communicate with the car.

Al three packages comes in at ~25 bucks per month. Part of that does go to pay for the cell service. I agree that it would be a nice added value if it was included for at least a couple of years but If they did that it would just be reflected in the purchase price of the car. At least this way if you don't find it of value you don't have to pay for it.

Is the mentioned service included free with MB or BMW?

Since you live in Central Texas, I assume you want to cool down the car before you get in. I am guessing that you have to park in the sun at work, otherwise it would not be that big of a deal. Looks you have a pretty dark tint job, but I would also get a folding windshield sun reflector, as it does wonders of keeping the inside of the car cool.

But I hope you got a ceramic tint film, as the dyed or charcoal kinds look nice, but don't block out much radiant heat energy. Metallic films work well, but block radio and cell phone signals, so ceramic is the way to go.

Yup, I do have the ceramic tent and the front windshield thingy and it does help, but not as much as the remote start. I'm just glad that it hasnt got over 100 degrees outside yet.
I did the Viper smart start on my 2012 Genesis and had no problems with it. I hope it will work with this car.

What Class Action suit????

Interesting. First I've heard of this suit.

Personally, I've never activated any part of the Bluelink in our '14 Santa Fe Sport. Also asked them how to get rid of the nagging periodic Nav screen reminder that the system is not being used.
