If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 v8 Oil Consumption

EdP, per specs, you're right. But fact is that most new cars don't consume oil, and when they do, it's logical to question why.

I have a 15 5.0 also. 33k and have no oil consumption. I do oil changes around every 3k. As far as warranty I dont know. I made sure I was a covered before signing the sales agreement. I Purchased CPO so I have Hyundai extended!

You may not see any bit of losing oil because such short intervals of oil changes. I do mine at 5,000 miles. Which I believe is plenty short of an interval for a full synthetic oil. The oil isn't terribly dark or dirty when coming out. I know way too many people who go to at least 10,0000 or more.

Yes ! I totally agree with you. That is just the way I do it. I just cant help myself.

I agree I get a little OCD about this car, but I will monitor this next 5,000 miles like its nobody's business so I can pinpoint exactly what its using, if any.;)

Good idea! My 5.0 sits too much to really check for oil consumption. 5000 miles may take more than a year for me. I love the car, and I just CV ant bring myself to drive it in crappy conditions. Snow/ ice/ slush/salt stuff!😣

Oh I wouldn't either, I looked far and wide for this car and made sure it didn't come from a salty area. It actually came from the total opposite. It was bought brand new in Florida and I got it next. I'm in North Carolina so she is able to be driven daily, except if we happened to have ice, slush or salty conditions. She is garage kept too. :giggle:

What is your daily driver if you let the Genesis "sit at the house" :(

I have a old yukon with 265thousand miles. One of those vehicles you dont care about getting nasty. Somedays when I get done work I am pretty dirty . Working on heavy equipment/trucks. Even if I lived in a sunny warm state I cant imagine how the ivory interior would look after using it to get back and forth to my job? I worked hard to save the money to purchase this car so I am kind vhf of anal about it.

I too looked far and wide for my Genny. It is not easy to find the one you want. Color/ interior/trim. Maybe 7 months I looked?

Yes I totally agree, I do not use the Genesis every day, just depends on what I'm doing that day. I also have what I call a "beater" an 08 Accord Coupe for most of the driving for work (black interior). And my truck for anything in between. But I'm sure to drive Genesis at least 2 or 3 days a week. I even enjoy getting home from work getting cleaned up and just going for a nice drive with the sunroof open.

The car is definitely a treat to drive.:)

Yes it really is a treat to drive. I went on a 1000 mile road trip in one day back in Sept, and after getting getting back I still wanted to keep driving! 🙂

Interior is one of my favorite parts of the car also.

Thank you and good luck to you and your Genesis as well!

Nice I looked at a white one. But it was a 3.8 . And with white no Ivory interior? So I have a black one. Looks nice but white has a different presence. IMO

Yes, looked at several different colors and I just kept gravitating back toward white LOL
