  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Maybe I missed it but I don't see any discussion on the 2015 Genesis tire swap.....I have and like the Hankooks......any assessments of feel and road noise by those who have switched to the Michelins?
Thanks.

You definitely missed it - there have many hundreds of posts - use the search box.

How could you miss it
Look for Threads on "Vibration", "Wobbles" "Tire Replacement", etc..

As for your Hankooks, my advice is to hang on to them for as long as you can. You have 1-2 years before the 'Tire-Swap' Campaign expires.

if you're happy with the hankooks, might as well keep 'em for awhile. i had my tires swapped out and honestly i don't think you gain much with the michelins except for a little quieter ride, and maybe longer tread life.

One cautionary note: If you damage a Hankook ( road hazard etc) you may forfiet the ability to change any of the set. Several dealers I talked to would not swap less than a complete set and the Hankooks are not available.

That is the one downside of the free tire offer. I now live in fear of a damaging issue on my Hankook's which would force me to prematurely move to the Continental's.

I guess driving around on a donut spare until the other three Hankook's wear out isn't going to fly

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Short of a catastrophic failure leaving bits of Hankook tire across the highway, I would just keep the damaged tire and hand it in when you want the tire swap. The dealer shouldn't care about its condition since they are only going to drill a hole in it anyway. Not sure I understand the comments about the Hankook's no longer being available. Tire-Rack still lists them for sale.

Not in the Genesis stock sizes for the V8.

The tire replacements for the V8 models are Continentals not Hankook... why would you want to replace with Hankooks ???

That reply was to the previous post which stated Hankook still sells the tires at Tire Rack. They do not in the V8 sizes.

As far as why use the Hankook's - easy, its a better tire than the replacements. I want to hold off using the replacement offer until I have used up the Hankook's. If one Hankook becomes unusable however, it will force me to prematurely use the replacement offer, due to the fact a replacement for the Hankook is not available anymore.

just be glad u dont have to put out any money to replace that ine tire u damaged. tire damage is not covered under warranty other than these rare circumstances.
