I think I would go with the 5.0 for several reasons:
1) gas is fairly cheap, and has been for a number of years, and with improved extraction technology, it looks like it will continue to be cheap for a while. And since I drive the car less than 10k miles per year, I really wouldn't be spending that much in gas over the 3.8 (unless I had my foot buried in the carpet constantly).
2) the V8 is just soooooo smooth
3) I like the quad exhaust tips better than the trapezoids
For me, the CDC isn't all, that important since I don't drive like the Dukes of Hazzard on a regular basis.

Right now should be a good time to find '15s since people w/ 3 year leases are turning them in. You may have to travel a bit, but availability should increase during the summer as those leases are turned in.
