Top of windshield (where the black tint is) got smacked by rock the other day and left a small chip and all seemed fine until today I found an 8" crack sliding down the windshield.
My version of the vehicle doesn't have auto cruise or lane departure but of course there is that huge electronics housing behind the rear-view mirror that has the wiper sensor etc. So I'm wondering if I have to take the car to a windshield shop due to all the gadgetry attached to the windshield, or can Safelite do a mobile repair?
I'm going to call my insurance group to see if I have glass replacement option, if not, it looks to be at least a $500 repair from what I've researched.
Anyone with same year/model vehicle have a windshield replaced? Any tips?
Thanks,
