My last tank (yesterday) was 18.72 mpg, the trip computer showed 22.4 mpg for the tank - it reset after the fill-up and right now shows 23.7 mpg for the 70 miles since the last full-up. If I remember correctly, the trip computer resets the mpg counter each time the car is filled up.
We have up to 10% ethanol here in TX, which negatively influences gas mileage, but the trip computer should register that I guess.
Mid-grade costs 30 cents more per gallon here (premium is 65 cents more than regular), so at $1.90/gallon I would have to improve fuel efficiency by over 15% with mid-grade, or over 35% with premium to break even. Not sure that's achievable but I will give it a shot. I'll report back once I have done some testing.
And to the OP, sorry to hijack the thread with fuel efficiency talk - that probably doesn't matter much if you are considering the V8![]()
Here in Miami we have 10% Ethanol too plus the heavy traffic I usually get 16 MPG during a regular driving day with 50/50 speedway/city trip. Premium gas is 60-70 cents per gallon higher than Regular.
You can change the MPG Auto reset feature on the User Settings menu on the LCD display plus you can reset manually at any time by pressing OK button for more than one second.
