  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I get a text from my salesman that I leased my 2020 3.3T Sport saying now is a good time to go to a 22.

He’s like your car has $10k in equity at least and all this blah blah.

I have 13k miles and see identical cars selling for $44-$46k I think I owe like $30k so I’m like ok whatever just give me the payment for 12/15k miles.

He comes back with a payment only $19 less 😂 so I said ok now what’s the payment if I walked in off the street with a $14k check.

Sends the payment and it’s $160 less then now. I’m like ok so the $4k difference in the equity you think I had which is less then I do btw is dropping the payment an additional $120/$130?

So clearly they want to give me basically nothing on my car and sell it for a huge profit.

So I said after I saw the cost, ok $432, you get me at $450 and I’ll do it. My payment is like $590 but it was a 15k lease but in 2 years I drove only 13k because I started working remote.

I’m considering going 12k but I’m unsure if the job I get after I finish UX/UI class will be remote.

So my plan was to keep it til next Feb and my payoff is $22k so get a loan to buy it with a super cheap payment with a 2020 with 18k miles but now I’m considering getting the sane model but a 22, mind you I won’t need to put tires on it like this one 😁

Plus I get to keep my Intake and CF interior parts.

What do you think is better? Keep it and probably get a 5 year loan say the payment is $420sh cuz I have excellent credit or if they reach $450 redo the lease.

Or go get a truck with fewer options lol

I’m glad I only buy (cash) and never lease.

I’m not. I never had any issues in years. Lower payment and walk away clean every time.

Due to not putting miles on the G70 I actually paid under sticker in total by $8500.

While not typical it seems a good way to pay under sticker for any lease. Overpay for extra miles you won’t use, then your buyout is less than its real value.

My buy out is $30k, see them selling at $45k 🤷‍♂️

It’s dealing with the dealer that’s annoying. No matter how little you owe, somehow you are upside down by their account 😂😂😂

I don't understand the math well enough to give an answer based on cost. But I do know I like the 2020 styling a lot better than the 2022. Plus, something really strange that I really like, is the sliding cover over the center cubby. I have NEVER seen that sliding cover on a 2022 model year. Did they get rid of it on all trims? Clearly that's a stupid reason to not "upgrade", but it's just part of a list of things I like better about the 2020

Lol yeah but I agree. I don’t like the back of the 22. I hate the name on the trunk like without it nobody will know. Plus it looks bad overall.

I don’t like the smaller brake vent. Just changed it to make a change although they claim it’s better but common, I’m not racing.

Lastly the front. 🤔 I don’t mind it but I like the 20 front better.

Oh and I defo like my rims over the 22. Idiotic times not make it available.

I’m looking payment though and I wouldn’t be embarrassed to drive the 22. Overall I like it but compared to my 20, no.

I love the g70 top to bottom, I want to put CF body parts they sell, just subtle.

However I defo want a Chevy 1500 maybe 4x4, 2” life, no big truck. Just a tight ass 1500 with rims and nice tires.

There’s a chance to keep the g70 and buy a truck cash so I’ll see. I’m putting the CF on it. It’s only like $2700 or so for all 4 sides through carbon creations and it looks nice.

Brother works at a body shop so install is done. I prefer the stock rear piece honestly but it won’t be complete with the extra $600 😂

Agreed! I can't stand the big GENESIS letters across the back. Looks cheap like a Hyundia elantra. The rear on the older models is so much better IMO

I'm surprised many people prefer the older G70 look over the new one, while the old one still looks amazing, I think the new facelift looks very good and unique, it really looks very futuristic to me haha

I am not surprised at all. It just looks less aggressive and they really took a turd on that rear.

The headlights may look cool being split but they just aren’t mean looking as the previous.

I guess just overall they toned it down and that’s just how I feel. It’s just not as nice looking to me but it’s not bad either.

Sometimes change is not good lol

I actually don’t think that’s true all the time. I had a lease in a Lexus and easily got into my Genesis with no money issues.

Some lease due to lower payments and then just buy the car.

My lease here is a huge positive if they didn’t force leasers to only trade back to Genesis or I’d be driving a low payment on a new truck.

They want that huge equity back lol.

Simple fix, pay off remaining lease which at this point is a decent diwn payment to a new car, get a simple loan for me which is only $24k for thos 20 with only 13,590 miles.

Huge trade in equity. Once it’s mine of course which will happen soon.

However, every time I drive it, I want to keep it lol

I agree, the rear on the '22 just doesn't look good to me. And I feel very strongly about how much I dislike the 4 piece headlights. I very much so don't like them. The rest of the front is nice on both.

Can anyone answer? Did they remove the sliding cover from the center cubby/wireless charger spot? I've only seen the interior of a few '22s, and none of them had it. I REALLY like it.

There is no slider anywhere on mine

Thanks. I wonder why they got rid of it. I really like it for privacy, and it also keeps things looking tidy

Wtf did someone come in with an idea to ruin the car?

Sure I get the headlights even though the 20s headlights are friking badass and look mean.

But the rear, the brake vent, the slider? The slider? I mean the slider? Why?

What kind of moron is that far into the details of a car? No way a study group was the reason lol

It’s just uneffingbelievable that they took the time to remove the slider LOL

Yes lol I’m yelling because it’s so idiotic.

If you look close at the front of the 20 that shield is there, it’s just a 2 piece and was better off.

Well I hope I can snag a nice truck and just put the CF body kit on this. It’s bound to be a favorite lol especially in the shape and color of mibe with the add obs.
