  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2023 Genesis G90

So I can report that from 2017 the purchase expirience HAS NOT improved. They tried to f$%k me on everything - once on the price and "addons," second time on the trade-in, and third on the lease numbers. Seriously, Genesis can do better than that. If all of their shennanigans succeeded they would've had 5.2K in pure profit. Over what they already got. I am happy with the car in the garage. Not with the 4 hours spent at the dealership. Jus' sayin'.

So... I have so many questions for the happy owners of the 2023 G90... Here are first 2,

1. the whole active road noise cancellation - you know how they say they pipe the reverse sound waves through the sound system - I didn't find any settings - do I understand it correctly that it is just "always on?"

2. I did not find a damn grocery hook on the trunk deck... Every Genesis I had since 2012 had it and it's just awesome convenience. I see that there are couple of holes in the deck - any thought that it might be "retrofitted?"

Oh happy day... After 10 years in existence Genesis decided and Auto hold setting should survive the engine start / stop routine :D

Did you go to the same dealer that you went to in 2017?

Yes BUT... 2017 was much easier since I pulled the Hyundai Circle on them and did not have a trade-in, so they did not have enough room to fck with me.

So why did you buy from them this time? No other dealers around?

No other cars around. I didn't feel like driving to Austin / Dallas.

I love the Circle!

Yep, hope it's coming back at some point. We get it all through the company, but Hyundai / Genesis suspended all and any plans except V and Z (ford in MI and dealership employees I believe)
Bought my 20 G80 Sport with A. Z is a tough nut to crack in any circumstances.

So the HDA2 is awesome, well, when it works. Someone said that lane centering is worse than in his/her old(er) Genesis? It's much better for me, especially on a highway. It keeps it dead center, no bouncing from line to line.
Backing into a 90-degree parking spot, well I can definitely do it faster and maybe even better. I am yet to find a parallel parking situation - it's kinda tough to find one in Houston :)
The screens are much better resolution and brightness-wise than my k900 (and that was better than 2017 G90). The details on the backup, front, and other cameras are AMAZING.

Is yours the supercharger one?
How quiet it is compared to your 17 G90 and how better it rides on the same roads?

e-SC, yes. I haven't had G90 since 2020 when I replaced it with a 2020 Kia K900, so I can't do a direct comparison. The ride is definitely much more composed, smooth, and quiet than that of a k900. You will still hear the concrete highway.

If anyone wonders, SlyBracket's license plate holder works on 2023 G90 - no need for a leveler. It can only be installed to the lower portion of the grill, as the upper one has a double diamond pattern and is closed off.

My buying experience feedback to the dealership GM,

"You, sir, need to stop selling like Hyundai with all those dirty tricks of endless trips to a manager, pulling the deal and then running after the client to beg them to come back, and start selling as a luxury dealership - what Genesis is trying to be. The car is great. The experience of buying it - borderline disrespectful and offensive to my intelligence.
That's all I have to say about the 5 hours of my life spent in your dealership on Saturday.

Thank you for asking."

Sat in the G90 today at the LA Auto show and have to say I was impressed! Very well done!

Were there many people at the Genesis booth? Which Genesis models got the most attention.

Not sure they are going to move many G90's at this increased price
They only sold about 1800 units in 2021 and that amount is down YTD

I dont think they will ever hit the LS500 numbers and its not selling well either

Mercedes seems to be moving S class though, more units sold in one month than the G90 sold all year in 2021...clearly still the sedan to have

On the balance, the rear-wheel steering is awesome - the car is very nimble in turns and I didn't feel any side effects a few reviewers mentioned, albeit I have never ridden in the back seat.
