  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey everyone, I'm a new owner of a 2025 GV60, picked up a couple of weeks ago. Everything has been great except for the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto (tried both), I just can't get it to work. My understanding was that 2025 was supposed to have this out of the box, especially now seeing many 2023/2024 owners already enabled and working via OTA since September.

Any other 2025 owners having issues getting wireless to work and managed to fix it? When I connect my phone via Bluetooth, I never get the "enable wireless CarPlay" pop-up that is supposed to come up when registering a phone to the car for the first time. Wired via USB works flawlessly as might be expected, but it's frustrating that wireless is seemingly broken.

I've tried all the standard suggestions that people had for the older model years after the OTA update, i.e. delete all devices and re-register, soft reset the infotainment system, etc. but nothing has worked. What's weird is that I got an update shortly after picking up my car that it had received an OTA update, which I thought might have patched things, but still nothing. I should also add that I've been in contact my dealer about this as well, and they have said they are researching solutions but have yet to reach back out to me since we talked on Monday.

Did your troubleshooting include deleting prior connections in airplay ON YOUR PHONE? That's the step I missed.

Also, please post all your software versions. Find them under Setup\General

Yes indeed, I did delete on the phone, as well, but unfortunately no luck.

Let me pull it up this evening and post it. I did check the version against the one in the Genesis Updater website, and it did not match. But, I had a distinct impression in my memory that mine was actually a more advanced (or at least "higher" number) version number than that on the website, which I assumed was because I have a 2025 and the Genesis Updater version was for 23/24 model years. But I will pull up the exact version numbers.

It took me a minute, but here are the software versions for my car:

Software versions: JW.USA.ccIC.001.010.240717
Firmware version: JW.USA.20.231228.MICOM
Navigation app version: ccIC.NAM.GNS.240508.1417N50
Map version: NAM.16.47.60.022.913.0
Vehicle system version: 24.11.1

I'm not sure if the "OTA - Infotainment and Map: Available" line means there is an impending update that is available, but I just have not downloaded it yet, or if it simply means the car has the ability to update itself via OTA.

I too picked up a New GV60 Performance last week. Software version seems to be dated July of 2024. Although the Android Auto works, it only works wired, not wirelessly. I contacted customer support and a nice tech walked me through all the options and could not get it to connect either. She suggested waiting until the next software release or bringing to the dealer. Unfortunately the dealer 1 mile from me, although EV certified, has no idea......... Anyone else???

Assuming your software is up to date, delete your phone from the GV60 AND delete the GV60 from your phone bluetooth connections. Then reconnect to Bluetooth. For some, this method allowed AA to connect wireless...

Did all of that, more than once and again along with a genesis tech on the phone. They too are stumped, suggested waiting for next update in the spring. My software dated July 2024.

This was done. I have a good background in computers and electronics. I have been through all of the options, including with tech support from Genesis. They suggest to bring to my local dealer, but they are not trained well on the electronics, and actually seem to care less.

software version dated July 17, 2024 , which according to Genesis is the most recent update.

That doesn't sound right. This thread should provide you with the background info you need:

For some reason, the wireless carplay / AA update isn't out for the 2025 GV60 yet. The 25 GV70s and GV80s get it though. I tried downloading the software for a 24, but it didn't work with the car. Sounds like the update is coming out in the spring even though the 25s were included in this announcement. However, it does mention some vehicles being delayed.

I may be mistaken, but I thought there was an OTA for Spring of 2025 that will bring wireless carplay to the 2025 models.

Someone with a 2025 posted to the Reddit forum a while ago with this response from Genesis:

Thanks, this is probably it. It is incredibly annoying (and probably illegal) that Genesis advertises the 2025's as having wireless AA/CarPlay out of the box when they do not...at least preface that it will be available in a future update.

It is very frustrating, I'm sure. I don't know if they are using the same wireless charger in the 2025 models as they are in the 2023 models but if it is any consolation, I'm effectively wired even though I have the update. When using wireless AA my phone will overheat when placed in the wireless charger. So if I want to keep my phone charged when using wireless AA I have to physically plug in otherwise my battery will drain.

Curious. Does your vehicle also not show the AA/CarPlay maps in the gauge cluster?

Yeah, the wireless charging pad is still borderline useless on the 2025 model, I've disabled it because it overheats my iPhone, as well.

For short trips I'm not too concerned about wireless CarPlay battery drain, so I'd keep my phone in my pocket or in the (disabled) charging pad. But for longer trips I can see myself also just plugging it in.

I only tried wired CarPlay once so I cannot exactly recall if it shows up in gauge cluster. I know for sure it does not show up in the HUD because I specifically checked for that and was disappointed it did not work. My memory is that I had to keep looking at the center display, so I feel like it did not work in the gauge cluster either.

You can still use carplay wirelessly. Simply plug your phone in the non data usb port when you need to charge it.
My iphone also overheats a lot when using the wireless charger pad.
