  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2025 GV60 and broken wireless CarPlay/AA

It isn't.

There is a newer charging standard, but it wasn't available when the car was designed. And the old standard is still compatible with the latest phones, it just doesn't charge them as fast.

The Qi2 standard was announced in January of 2023 and available in April 2023. My vehicle was built in June of 2023 and there have been lots GV60s that have been built since that continue to use the old standard. Genesis could have instituted a running change to include the Qi2 standard.

My phone won't charge at all and just shuts down from overheating. I've actually lost charge having it sit in the charger.

Beyond adopting Qi2, there are plenty of Qi1 chargers that don't cause my phone to overheat or lose charge. I have mine sitting on one as I type this.

Hey everyone, I'm a new owner of a 2025 GV60, picked up a couple of weeks ago. Everything has been great except for the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto (tried both), I just can't get it to work. My understanding was that 2025 was supposed to have this out of the box, especially now seeing many 2023/2024 owners already enabled and working via OTA since September.

Any other 2025 owners having issues getting wireless to work and managed to fix it? When I connect my phone via Bluetooth, I never get the "enable wireless CarPlay" pop-up that is supposed to come up when registering a phone to the car for the first time. Wired via USB works flawlessly as might be expected, but it's frustrating that wireless is seemingly broken.

I've tried all the standard suggestions that people had for the older model years after the OTA update, i.e. delete all devices and re-register, soft reset the infotainment system, etc. but nothing has worked. What's weird is that I got an update shortly after picking up my car that it had received an OTA update, which I thought might have patched things, but still nothing. I should also add that I've been in contact my dealer about this as well, and they have said they are researching solutions but have yet to reach back out to me since we talked on Monday.
Hey, I just bought my 2025 a week ago. They specifically told me that the wireless CarPlay and AA won’t hit the cars until some over the air update later this year.

I guess the word is finally going out to dealers to stop advertising wireless CarPlay/AA. Mine told me it had wireless out of the box.

Genesis had officially said it would be standard on 2025, and practically all the mainstream auto publications like Car and Driver, Edmunds, Autoblog, etc. had said the same.

One dealer wanted $10K more for that "feature" lol. There was no or few discernable differences between 24 and 25 models, the native airplay was the big deal as I was told anyway.

So after several calls and emails to Connect Service and trying to force the OTA Infotainment & Map that clearly says available, I am at the dealer to get them to do the update. Fingers crossed I get the wireless CarPlay promised when I bought it 3 weeks ago!!IMG_0528.webp

I believe the grayed out notice about update available just means your GV is capable of OTA updates, not that an update is actually available.

Sooo after 3 hours at the dealership they said it has all of the right sit and should work but doesn’t. They contacted the tech guys and they will be pushing out some kind of patch to my car but have no timeline. They are supposed to contact me when it happens. I will keep you updated.

I know this thread is nearly a year old but will add my experience in the hope it will help someone.
I have recently taken delivery of a GV60, European version based in UK. This came with the factory fitted software but the OTA update arrived on the drive back from the dealer. Once the update was installed, I could not get my iPhone to connect wirelessly. The same phone had previously connected without issue to my previous car (BMW). My phone would connect for the telephone function - so concluded the bluetooth was working. It would also connect CarPlay via a USB cable.

No amount of deleting the pairing and re-pairing would make a difference, however I did notice that each time it tried to pair a message briefly poped up on the main display of the car. The message was so brief I can recall the exact wording but the indication is that the car did not understand the message (presumably from the phone). After a timeout period the iPhone indicated it could not connect. I was able to try an alternative iPhone and that paired immediately and wireless CarPlay was operational. This pointed to an issue with my phone.

For context I need to explain that my current iPhone 13 Mini is the latest in a series of iPhones I have had over nearly 10 years. Each time I updated I would save the current configuration to the cloud and load it into the new phone. This neat way of setting the configuration in the new phone eases the transition to the new phone.

After much head scratching I eventually backed up my iPhone and performed a factory reset. I then manually configured the minimum needed to get a working phone (no restore from backup). Now the iPhone paired immediately with the car and wireless CarPlay was working. I wasn't going to risk restoring the backup (I have tried the earlier and the CarPlay didn't pair), so it meant re-configuring all the apps and settings of the phone. The only silver lining is that I got rid of the old apps I never used.

My conculsion is that there was something in the early configurations of the iPhone that had propogated through when I upgraded my phone that the GV60 could not tolerate but the BMW could.

Now a couple of weeks on the CarPlay connects each time I start up the car without any input from me.
