  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2025 OTA Problem - Wireless Carplay / Android Auto

If the GV80 Coupe is the same as the GV80 SUV then this is the latest software available for download.

to say the least! im so confused.... Im tempted to just try the manual update. Question - I dont remember from when I looked before online - does it tell you what version one is downloading??
They changed the Genesis owners web page about a week ago and with some help here, I found the new location of the map updates.
Go to the very bottom of the page after you log on and the last item on the far right will say Map Updates.
Click on that.
Download and install the navigation updater tool.
You will then follow the step by step instructions to download it to a USB pen drive. the step by step instructions will ask you which car you have.
I know when I do it, it defaults to my model year probably because it knows I have that car, but you can change it so make sure you pick the right one.
I am in my 70's and had no issue doing this so it can be hard.

Good luck

I did the installer, etc. Got to the part to pick out GV80 and Genesis, but the name of the nav system, version was blank during the download. So I was wondering if it was suppose to fill in that blank or not. Never did for me.

OK, in the installer, you first need to go to the settings and select Genesis. Next you will need to select GV80. Select next and select your USB drive to download the update to. Once it is downloaded, you will need to take the USB drive to your vehicle to install the update. Now, the GV80 Coupe is not listed, do I do not know if the 2025 GV80 is the same as the 25 GV80 Coupe. Currently, what software is loaded on your vehicle?

Sorry, best to leave the engine running during install? Got the above - tks! Sorry for all the questions, but dont want to muck it up and the instructions said that the files would at first be installed to hard drive then id have to transfer to USB - but thats not what happened. ALSO, it would not work on MAC. downloaded package , etc, installed program, picked out model, etc., and all I ever got was preparing download - but it never downloaded. I had to then reformat ( to be safe - was already formatted ExFAT ) USB and do it all over again on a PC. So I a little skeptical here. Sorry!

Not a problem. Do you have a GV80 or GV80 Coupe? I always run the vehicle when I do the install. I monitor it until it is complete. In the end you have to select it to finish.

Coupe. How long might the update take?

OK, like I said, I do not know if the update is for the GV80 and/or the GV80 Coupe. What version of software is currently loaded on your Coupe?
I thought it's on one of the screen shots above, right?!?! If not let me know and I'll look again.

OK, I found your post. Except for the 002 in the third number sequence, it looks like the GV80 and the Coupe have the same infomat system. This update should work and it is newer than what you currently have loaded. If it is not compatible, when you try to load it, it will let you know.

Thanks. keep you posted. Id like to do it now, but my wife's a littler freaked out by every dealer saying different things and she has to take the car on a girls trip to Dunne Allen on th. She may shoot down the idea until she gets back!

It should be OK, like I said, if the update is not compatible, the system will tell you. It will take close to an hour to do the install, so be patient. Let me know how it goes or if you are going to wait until she comes back from her trip. Good luck.

You are welcome. This is what the forum is all about. Owners helping owners. I do not know what plans you have for your Coupe, but I will tell you, getting ceramic coating, front windows tinted to match the back, windshield tinted to 75% and adding a dashcam are some of the best things I did to my GV80. Where are you located?

New Orleans. Not sure what we’re gonna do. I did want dash cam - Mercedes offers it as an option. Wanted bc all the crazies here. Going to wait a bit to see on any upgrades. BC we leased, dealer said car has to be turned in to them in original oem condition and we of course loose any value we put into it - so probably not going to do any.

Understand. At a minimum, buy spray ceramic coating and use it on the vehicle. It will last a good 3-6 months and you can recoat it at any time the water does not bead. Will help protect the paint and you will not have to wax. As a matter of fact, you should not wax it when coated with ceramic. Ceramic is slicker than wax. Nice thing about it is you can spray it on the paint, plastic, glass and wheels. Will make the vehicle sine in the sun.

I am in Florida about an hour west of Pensacola. So, weather is about the same. You can add a dash cam without doing and permanent modification. Can be removed if you turn in the lease and transferred to your next car. Tint would be a no go without their approval.

Still waiting for the OTA update on my 2025 GV80. Anyone in a 2025 do the OTA update via USB recently? Any problems? How long did your update take?

If you want to install a dash cam, you can do it yourself with one of these in about 10 minutes or less.

I know this worked on my 2021 GV80 and I know on other years as well, but not sure if it will work on your year and model. But you can check with them or just sent it back if it does not fit. Amazon is good that way.
