  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

why aren't there any?

my salesman called today after he spoke with the regional rep, who told him it would be some time for the north east to get them. the regional rep decided to pull one that he was sending to vegas for a show (SEMA)? and send it up to my dealer, because the salesman has been such a pest over the last 2 months on this car. which is good for me, in 10 days they should have my car. but i still don't understand why there are none in the north east??

I am in California and I just closed a deal on the Black on Black 4.6 V8 with the tech package. The car is phenomenal!!! I almost caved and settled for the 3.8 V6, but I am glad I waited. The power is incredible!! Test drove the 230hp 525xi, no comparison. The BMW is a "swiss army knife", functional, a little bulky and pathetically underpowered. The Genesis simply blows it away! My advice is be patient!

I had my Genesis in Freysinger Hyundai in Mechanicsburg, PA for the ECM update yesterday. They had one 4.6 on the lot, Cabernet Red without the Tech Package. Chris, the inventory manager, told me he has several coming "on the water" and expects them to arrive within a few weeks. He was able to rattle off colors and options since he's the one ordering these.

Funny, I live in Montreal, Canada and I know that we had a few Genesis 4.6 available in our city. As I wrote earlier, I picked up my 4.6 Black on Black Tech last week and have enjoyed it immensely. However, I have not seen another one since I bought mine, so they are definitely slow in coming.

Alot of ads appearing, so they better ramp up the deliveries. This is definitely the best value I have seen in a long time.

The 4.6 is worth the extra $ in my opinion. The power oozes from it. Unlike other cars of 300+ HP, the power is liquid in this vs the rush push/pull from a japanese car. While the RWD will be a concern for me in the winter, the handling is top rate on pavement, wet or dry.

I have had 7 BMW's in my time. I remember driving my 2002 and flashing with other 2002 drivers because we knew what we had and no one else did.

The thrill is back with my black-on-black! I have never stood and admired my car more than now. Never looked forward as much to driving it.

yeah it seems strange that they are in Montreal, Central PA, Maryland/VA area, but nothing in NY or BOS it seems.....would have thought they would hit the major metro areas hard, especially to coincide with the ads that i see on TV at least once a day...

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I hear you. I'm in the Phila area and there is none to be found or any information as when they will get here. My lease on my BMW ( I will never lease a BMW again. How much money does BMW expect us to bleed?) is up and I need a car now. I have settled on the Genesis after 6 months of research. But where are they? I keep getting the same answer that they "are on the water". I had several sales manager grill the area territory reps as to any information but no one seems to know. Their best guess is maybe at the end of October or begining of November. I almost caved and went with the 3.8 but after reading the rave reviews of some of the responses on this site about the 4.6, looks like I should hold out.

Several sales managers told me that they think they may only get 1 or 2 per dealership. if so, dealers won't be willing to trade to get the color you want as they will be in demand. I have to also assume that they will be sticking to MSRP. One sales manager feels that it is a ploy to allow 1 or 2 per dealership to mainly get people into a Hyundai dealership. If that is indeed Hyundai's ploy, to use the car as a bait and switch, that sucks on Hyundai's part.

DP - I think metro-Philly may have the USA's worst lot of Hyundai dealers. I'm in Chester County, and all but Piazza have treated me like slime.

Harrisburg Hyundai is laughable but Freysinger Hyundai in Mechanicsburg, PA was great. They "get it".

Speak with Chris Manga, the inventory manager. Tell him Bob Muenkel sent you! (800) 560-8422.

I would agree but intertestingly enough with the way the economy is now, not many car dealers (except for DeSimone BMW in Mt Laurel NJ and Burns Hyundai in Marlton NJ) are acting too cocky about selling their cars. Add Burns to the slime Hyundai dealerships. They are one of the few car dealerships that I know of that add dealer charges to the MSRP. Pin striping etc. I thought that mark up stuff went out in the 80's.

The guys at Turnersville Hyundai and Pacifico hyundai in Phila have been pretty good as to getting me information etc. I have not hammered out a deal with either of these dealers yet but i'll keep you posted.

I wish we could get some 4.6's here so I can get a deal done. My one fear is that they will only get a small allocation and not deal on the price.

Have you been able to get a discounted price on the car?

Low inventory in the North East is a problem for Hyundai and annoying to me (the customer). Choices are so limited at any one dealer as to color, packages, etc. Compared to my recent trip to Atlanta where one dealer had over a dozen units on his lot, the best any dealer around here stocks is 2 or maybe 3. One dealer told me the Genesis is an expensive car for them so they don't want too many in stock. BUT, they are discouunting at least $1500 offr msrp. The problem for Hyundai, as anyone in the retail business knows, is you can't "sell goods from an empty wagon" . I

Yea it's very frustrating to me as my lease is up in a few days and I need a car. Why advertise the hell out of something you don't have? This could very well be a huge PR mess for Hyundai if they don't produce the 4.6's in the show rooms soon.

I just got an update from my local, Pittsburgh, dealer on my ordered 4.6 Genesis. I placed my order on August 1. He says there are only 274 V-8s in the USA right now. His allocation of 4.6s will be posted the end of October.

His Hyndai rep tells him "they are on the water". Sounds like the same story many of you have heard.

Guess I'll just have to patient. My Infiniti M35 lease runs out mid-November.

Don't really understand why the Northeast gets the stinky end of the stick?!

My best guess is that they don't think they can sell a lot of rear wheel drive V8 sedans right before winter in the NE...

Just received a call today from Key Hyundai in Jacksonville FL....they received their first 4.6 today (titanium/black w/tech) and they received only one. He said he expects three more soon. I guess they are starting to finally trickle in.

I'll tell you what ticks me off is they think everyone likes only black, silver, or gray. While I understand that these are suppose to be the most popular colors it appears to me as if they are way off on their ratio of what they have shipped. I understand that just because autotrader lists the 4.6's it doesn't mean they actually have them. But just take a looks at what is listed for colors of the 4.6's either on hand or on the way.

In my area it's just plain sad............I can go to three different dealers for a black/cashmere tech pkg. All of them will tell you well gosh we can get you any color you want. Yeah but they don't tell you that it may take months to find one! In my case, as I have mentioned before, I have bought the sterling blue/cashmere 4.6 with tech pkg. That was one month ago. I few days after that they started arriving at dealers. All have been black except for two silver ones.

And as long as I am at it I will tell you that one of the dealers that had a 4.6 black Genesis also had 4 more with the V6. Two with tech pkg. and two without. Care to guess what color? Your right.........black!!! It took quite some time in my area before I saw any other colors of even the V6 version other than black, silver, or gray. After that came a few sapphire blue ones and then quite awhile later the red and beige showed up about the same time. Then finally a few sterling blue ones showed up.

I respect everyone's right to their prefered colors and that is not my point. My point is those of us who are buying or will be buying..........aren't we all Hyundai customers? I know my color isn't as popular but still its listed as an available color option is it not? Why should I have to wait months possibly and have my dealer tell me gee you sure you don't want black I show around 25-30 within 500 miles. That is why I think their estimated sales ratio's are off. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe they only build one color at a time. But if I remember right they are building them in a fairly new multi-billion dollar factory. You would think that multi color builds would be possible.

Sorry to vent but I'm frustrated!!!

Has anybody else noticed this!

Hyundai had a search engine for their Dealer network that USED to search by ZIP code, and then had a city/state index. That allowed you to search cities for the car you wanted, by checking that dealers inventory (unless they lied!).

The new system only allows searches by ZIP or by dealer NAME in a state. So you are basically "locked out" unless you know the dealers name.

Wouldn't it have just been easier to have MORE V8's available (!!).

OK the magical date of October 15th is here! You know, that was the date that almost every dealer in the Northeast promised that the V8 Genesis would arrive in the showrooms. You know, those showrooms that have been redesigned with a special place for the Genesis and staffed by specially trained Genesis specialists. Well the Genesis must be flying out the doors because I can not even get a dealer to return phone calls on the V8 any more. It must be nice for the Hyundai dealers to be that busy when all the other car companies are crying the blues.

Realisticly, at this point I have just about given up all hope of seeing a V8 Black/Saddle Tech in the Northeast before 2009. I think it is time to consider the massive discounts available on other cars that actually exist. I am am both saddened and amazed that Hyundai could actually blow this introduction so badly. Wants, desires and logic all go out the door if the product just plain is not available and nobody is able to give you the slighest hint of a realistic delivery date. Sad... sad... sad... the Kool Aid seems to be evaporating...

For those in NJ, Global AutoMall has the VIN # for a Black/Black V8 Tech and will hold with a deposit.

Just got a call from my Pittsburgh dealer. He's been told there are 180 V-8s allocated for the Region (NY, PA, WV, MD and OH). That's about one per dealer. At this point, of course, they are not guaranteeing any specific color. Delivery is likely mid-November!

My patience continues.

Gipp, thanks for the heads up I just put a deposit on a silver with Tech package! Good timing as my lease is up tomorrow!

Great! Let us know the final purchase details. You know I am jealous...I bet Global will "give" you a loaner car for the time between the lease and Genesis delivery if you ask. It won't be anything special but it should be free...
