  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

4.6s in the Northeast, where are they??

Yes, they did offer me a loaner, but even though I'm in NJ I'm 1 1/2 hours from their dealership. I plan to hammer out the deal and then only go there to pick it up. On the surface they seem like a good dealership. I did get some pricing, was hoping to get them down a little more but the sales manager was upfront that he was adding $750 additional profit over the lease program. However, it's still less than MSRP.

Should get the car within two weeks. Still don't know whether I should I lease or buy.

The money factor is crazy low at .00001. Plus hyundai kicks in a few dollars However I hate all the fees associated with leasing. I just ended a lease and had to pay all the fees for body work (minor scrapes on bumper) and a disposition fee.

Tough decision. Wish Hyundai had some low financing to buy.

go to a costco, aaa or autoland.com... they will search dealerships across the country and find what you want and then deliver it to your door on a truck. I know that my local dealership, Keyes Hyundai in Van Nuys, CA, who I am very happy with BTW, has quite a few 4.6s on the floor.

"Thank you for submitting a request for a 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4dr RWD Sedan 4.6. Unfortunately at this time you are located outside of the service area of Autoland. At present we offer Autoland Services in the following 17 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and Wyoming. If you are not located in one of those states, we regret that we cannot be of service at this time, although we hope to expand our operations into your state in the near future."

Wow. I just checked the DMS and the pickin's are very slim out there! :) I see 3 4.6's in MA, 0 (zero) in NY, and only 7 in PA. Dang. Unfortunately, I can only see what is on the ground at other dealers, so I can't tell what is in the pipeline. I wish I had more info for you guys.

Ed,
Thanks for looking for us. It is much appreciated. As mentioned the most frustrating part is that we are just bombarded with Genesis commercials on the New York television stations. Looks like an opportunity for the Marketing and Production teams to have a sit down. At this point, based on conversations with the NJ/NY dealers they almost feel that the advertising is hurting them more than helping...people drop in or call to schedule test drives and they have absolutley no idea of how or when to schedule them. The one NJ dealer who says he got a VIN# for one 4.6 tech sold it within 5 hours to DP1613 on this forum but could not promise a solid delivery date as yet. Frustrating....

I ordered the 4.6 black/black with tech Sep 14. At that time the dealer told me it should be here in about 4 weeks. Now 4 weeks had come and gone. I asked the dealer yesterday, they said they still don't have the VIN yet. They hope to get it in the next 4 to 6 weeks!

Ed,
What you have done is much appreciated by all of us here. I've had an "8" on order with deposit since July 15th, and my dealer has always been truthful with me - they just don't have a clue on delivery dates. They assure me I've got the car if it ever shows up!

If you can, could you check NC for V8's? I know of one dealer who shows 6-8 of them from time to time, but has never actually had one on site yet!

Again, thanks for helping!

I did get a vin number, so I have to assume that this car will get delivered and does exist. However, one strange note when dealing with the salesman, he insisted that the car would be here the end of this week or the beginning of next. However, when i spoke to the sales manager he said it was not in port yet and will probably take a few weeks. Go figure.

If two weeks turns into months I'm not going to be a happy camper.

I tried to search the net for the VIN Number to see if it jived to what was promised, but searches turned up nothing. Is there a way to track a VIN for a car that has not been delivered to the dealership?

NC shows 2 V8's, neither a tech pack. One red/tan, one red/saddle.

PM me your VIN and I will run it to see what the current status is.

my car was supposed to have shown up last monday. of course it didn't. the regional rep is supposedly on vacation this week, so my salesman can't find out what is going on. hopefully i will know more early next week, but i am starting to think that i might pull out of this.

i had been thinking of a conv. corvette when i placed my order 2 months ago. GM is probably going to be paying people to take cars off their hands in another month or two. hyundai might loose a customer here real soon....

I'm having trouble zeroing on the lease payment the dealership I'm working with. We seem to be mysteriously off by $30 per month. I have to admit this is getting frustrating. Seems like a lot of little fees being added to the deal. Anymore nonsense and I'll get out of the deal as well.

Because of the lack of 4.6's in the Northeast seems like the dealers that have them are acting like they can stick it to you. I guess they can, in a sense, but come on Hyundai, let's face the car is not proven as of yet. Those of out there who ponying up for a $42K Hyundai are setting the table as to whether this car is a hit. Now is not the time to take advantage of the customer.

Once this car is hit you can hit us with the fees and overcharge for options and hike up the price. Just ask BMW how that works.

Maybe the trick is to be more patient and wait until there are more in the market place. Problem is I need a car now.

I got pricing on a 4.6 with Tech Package for Sales/Cap Cost on Lease of $40,700.

Is this good?

Wow. interesting. I found autoland through my credit union... if you have a credit union, they may have a version of autoland that serves your "service area".

chill...

by late December...

should be sufficient cars in the stream...

have to remember wasn't till really September that cars hit LA Area lots...

since Hyundai is based here- made sense- so like one of my GM friends in Atlanta they only have 5 V8's allocated through December (largest dealer in Atlanta)...

so if you are not in the West and want the car now- it will be expected you might have
to pay as high as MSRP

and no way I would tell anyone to pay MSRP- especially for a HYUNDAI... unproven for this league of car- wait till Jan 09- you will get better deals

Well, if the suppy chain can't seem to catch up by December, there will be a LOT of folks who are holding $500 test drive coupons that will be VERY upset.

Hyundai take note: If the supply doesn't catch up soon, I would advise extending the coupon expiration date! Supporters will quickly become detractors, never mind loss of sales . . .

Wagon trains can get to New York/New Jersey faster than the 4 months indicated above. I can see no "sense" in a manufacturer being unable to bring thier product to market in a timely fashion. I can see even less sense in spending huge advertising dollars in markets where the car is literally unavailable. The allocation of product based on physical location of a branch office in California makes absolutely no sense at any level. It seems that the only chilling needed is on the logic being invoked.

That sounds really good to me, since the retail price of that car is $42,000 and it's hard to find them.
