If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Has anybody started to look at what is available for winter tires for this car? If remaining stock stock size, then there seems to be only 1 tire available, fortunately it is a Blizzak which is rated among the best. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/dg/DG...manufacturers=Uniroyal&manufacturers=Yokohama

They do have an option for smaller diameter wheel and tire packages but this is what pops up when selected.

Alert
Due to the unique technical aspects of this application, we can only accept orders for Winter / Snow Tire & Wheel Packages for your 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan V8 over the phone.

Please call 888-541-1777 to speak with one of our sales specialists. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I have been doing research for winter tires as well and got the same message when I enter the 2015 Genesis sedan.

In the owners manual, it does state that the 5.0 should be mounted with 19 inch wheels. However, next week I am going to see if my staggered 18 inch set up from my Genesis Coupe with Brembo's will clear. If not, I'll have to fork out some cash for 19" winter tires and mount on the OEM's. (Plan on a set of summers wheels and tires next spring). Prices range from $950 to $1300 at the moment at a shop in Buffalo. They dvised me to call in a couple of weeks when they expect a better selection of winter tires.

Personally I would like to get a set of xice or blizzaks based on previous experience.

I have an option which may work but not sure of a couple of things and need to contact someone at Tire Rack to see if it is feasible and safe. I still have my original wheels from my 2010 4.6 which are in mint condition. Not sure if the hole pattern is the same or what size/width tire combo would work well if any in an 18". I personally prefer winters mounted on separate wheels for ease of install and this would obviously be my cheapest option.

Do you order from Tire Rack or just use it to find what works? Do they ship to Canada and what is the cost of that?

Thanks!

I have ordered many of tires from Tire Rack and they have one of the best websites for tires. You can go on there site, find the tire you like and also get the shipping cost. You can have them ship to your home or your installer. I wouldn't think it would be much different for your guys north of the boarder.

Here is a link to the FAQ section on their website pertaining to Canada. Hope this helps.

Yes they do deliver to Canada at better prices that can be had locally. Just punch in what you need on site and enter the Canadian address, it will give you a price delivered to your door with all taxes and duties if applicable. That being said, my very good friend owns a tire shop and I buy from him who can do at least as good as TR or better. I still use TR for fitment and to see what is out there as their data base is the best there is. ;)

I went ahead and bought the bridgestones from the pcm tire site. Was about $400 less than tirerack.

I have been doing a bit more research and have determined that the 275/35 19 rears found on the 5.0 are not exactly the best choice for winter driving due to the massive width. The stock 245/45 18 on the V6 on all fours is your best bet for winter not only for traction but the price does come down a little also.

My choice is a set Michelin Alpine PA4 in a 245/45 18 all around. As mentioned, I do still have my Gen 1 4.6 wheels which are mint which I can use. Just waiting to verify the hole pattern is in fact the same from Gen 1 to 2.

Here is a good review on the Alpine PA4 Click the "Tests (Video)" tab. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...r=2015&autoModel=Genesis Sedan&autoModClar=V6

If you are less performance oriented and simply want one of the best winter tires out there the the Michelin Xi3 is my favorite. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...HR8XI3XL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

^ Totally. The X-Ice 3s are very quiet and comfortable winter tire choice, even on my RWD 12' R-Spec. Sometimes wish I had better handling.

I was just informed the X-Ice 3 is not compatable with the Genesis as the H speed rating is to low. :(

They would be fine. Do you plan to exceed 130 mph in the winter? I hope not:)

Did you find this out yet.

I'm still trying to determine wheel offsets for the front and rear on the new gen.

Does any one have information on the single fitment option? I think the 245/45-18 work but haven't been able to have that confirmed. The dealer wants to put the staggered fitment sizes on, as does the Costco tire shop. I really want a narrower tire for snow. The Blizzak LM-32 seem to be the easiest choice but those big old 275's in the rear worry me in snow/ice plus I have no experience with Blizzak's. Had a CTS awd with Hakkapeliitta 235/50-18's and they were awesome. I live in the Fraser Valley of BC and we get it all as far as weather goes!

The shop in Buffalo didn't have the tires I decided on (Michelin X Ice). I ended up ordering 245/45/19 X Ice from Nexmod for $1250. Could have waited but not a lot of shops carry this size and production is rather limited since most people don't run on 19" winters.

I have a spare set of 18's and XIce's that I used on my previous car that I will have to try at some point, but my understanding is that most 18" wheels won't fit around the massive brakes on the 5.0. It appears the rotors are 15.4" and the calipers protrude well beyond that. My previous car had 14" rotors and wouldn't fit 17" wheels so I'm not optimistic.

Edit: 14.2" according to the Hyundai microsite. I went off the first hit on advanced auto which was apparently way off.

Depends on the wheel. I have 17" wheels with winters from my rspec that would fit fine on the Gen2 althought there is very little clearance up front.

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but I had never heard of Fraser Valley, BC so I looked it up and looked up some of the pictures on Google Earth. What a gorgeous place to call home!
