  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

$7500 back on a lease??

So did you have to request the GmReg 256 form from Hyundai or did they send it automatically? How long after you received your Pink Slip did the DMV form 256 arrive?
We went over to the the AAA office on Monday with our signed off Pink Slip and Bill of Sale. We also had my wife's vanity plates. The gentleman at AAA did everything (including filling out the Reg 256 Section G). The whole process took less than 20 minutes and cost $30 ($15 for reissuing the Pink Slip and $15 for converting to the Vanity Plates). Signed the original paperwork (Lease) on March 26th and everything completely done by May 22nd (nine weeks!!).

So yesterday we finally received the signed off Pink Slip (title), Congratulatory Letter, and Bill of Sale. Signed the Lease for the car late March, paid the Lease Buy Out first week in April. Total out of pocket payment including everything wound up being about $1000 below MSRP.
Did you get an acknowledgment from Genesis of the buyout before the title arrived?
I sent the check to Genesis last week, and per usps they got it on Monday (the 22nd). Tomorrow (25th) my first payment is due, and that’s still what the Genesis finance site says. I wonder what’s going to happen when I don’t pay tomorrow.

On my Kia, I forgot to cancel the autopay in time, so they sent me back a check for the extra payment.

Congrats!
How did AAA handle the Reg256 section G? It’s supposed to be signed by Hyundai.

He put the amount of taxes shown on the Bill of Sale (which Hyundai and I both signed) into Section G and then I signed off on that form (Reg 256). He said I should receive the new Pink Slip in 4-6 weeks.

Interesting. The dmv asked me for a form signed by hyundai including their tax ID...

Just got another email from them saying "something is still missing " not saying what 🤦🏻‍♂️.
I wish I knew about aaa before it all started.

How many days since the account creation were you able to request the buyout quote? My account was created on the 22nd and I cannot see the buyout quote. It is still giving me the following message:
*Buyout Information: You must visit a Genesis dealer to complete your purchase due to regulations in your state. This Buyout Amount is based on the Vehicle Registration Address and may include, but is not limited to the purchase price, past due amounts, taxes, and other amounts set forth in your lease agreement.

Oh so your case is different, you need to go to your dealership to request a buyout.

Congrats. Well i am still waiting for the Pink Slip (title), you received it from Genesis or from the DMV?

To be honest i am not understanding the whole procedure and Genesis Customer Service is terrible, every time they give me different details.
Per the Genesis title tracker, you should get the title within 20 business days.

Got a quote over the phone for 52,705 plus taxes, valid till Jun 21. So far paid $2,880 out of pocket. Will have to go to any licensed dealer (need not be even a Hyundai/Genesis dealer) and get the buyout done. Considering the $780 tax error that the dealer deducted from the cost, this is a straight 7,500 savings.

So instead of the title I just got a notarized letter from Genesis releasing interest in the car. No bill of sale either.
I’ll call them on Monday.

Last week I did receive the updated Pink Slip (title) from the DMV. Everything is perfect and a huge thank you to AAA office for making it all so simple. Title is now in my wife's and my name (or) so either of us can sell the car without the other needing to sign off. All went just as the dealer originally told me it would. As stated above, wound up owning the car at a price including tax, title, and all fees more than $1000 below the MSRP. Almost 1200 miles on the car and couldn't be happier.

I called the local AAA office, but unlike the one in NV they only serve members:(
I'll go with the dmv online/ email/ mail option again. Now that I'm experienced, I expect a smother experience.

Yes I am a member. The cost of membership is definitely worth it in my opinion cause we never have to deal with the DMV directly. We are always in and out of the AAA office in less than 15 minutes. Usually if I have to go to the DMV I have to wait more than 15 minutes just to see the filter person and then another half hour or so to actually get to a service window. I had to get a new license after my cataract surgery when I didn't need glasses anymore. AAA can't do that.

It’s very rarely that I need to go to the dmv. Been there lately to get my RealID (was a real PITA) and for my son’s driving test, but you can’t avoid those.

Today's call with Genesis Finance resulted in nothing as well. They keep telling me the same; "some dealerships takes more time to process paperwork" and they advised me to file a claim with the "Consumer Relationship Department", i did and i have a case number now but they couldn't reach the dealership by phone because "as usual" no one answer calls there.

I know that sooner or later the account will be opened but what i don't want now is to deal with the DEALERSHIP finance office, because i would really hit the guy there on his face, what an incompetent and unprofessional person.

I live in CA, So i hope i will be able to finalize the buyout online through genesis finance account.
Hi! I am about to try the leasing a GV60 as discussed in this thread. Can I ask which dealership you purchased from in CA? I am in the Bay Area. Thank you so much for that info...

Hey, Genesis San Bruno. I would advise you to avoid them COMPLETELY.

Stevens Creek Hyundai and Genesis
How was your experience with them? This is the dealership I am currently engaged with.... Did you see any extra fees that were surprising?? Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences. So appreciative since I hate dealing with dealerships...

Never had any problems. I dealt directly with Billy Kuang and Raymond Ceja. Billy is the General Sales Manager and he is the one who made me aware of the Lease Buy Out option. They are an excellent crew. No hidden fees at all. Very straight forward.

I used the AAA office on Prospect between Lawrence and Saratoga. Problem is they told me that office will be closing soon if not already.
