The 2015 Subarus had that standard. Outback and Legacy I believe!I remember hearing about how the new BMW 3 series has this sweet little thing for the front grille - active aero - which is enabled during highway cruising for better MPG's. Well, looks like they were late to the party...

...The G70 had that feature already.![]()
At cruising speeds, where you're not flooring it, the shutters close to increase aero and fuel efficiency by reducing the drag. Can someone educate me on what this does, and how it operates.
Is it actually fully active as in an electronic shutter?
I wonder when it activates? When Coasting in Eco and Eco-Smart maybe?
I'm wondering the same thing....almost makes me want to get a cheap eBay camera and stick it next to it and go for a drive to see what happens. Haha.
GoPro, GoPro Car suction mount, and a generous Amazon return policy might be a better way to go![]()
I think that might only work for stationary things. I'd imagine the vibrations from driving would shake it out of place.
Is that in the service manual?According to the manual it closes only during "high speed" driving for greater stability, but will open when things get too hot.
