Actual Color of "Jet Black" Interior

I'm strongly considering buying a Titanium Gray Genesis. I'm confused by the "jet black" interior color. Photos on the Hyundai website look like the color is truly black, but many photos of actual cars from contributors on this website and from some dealers websites make the color appear to be more of a dark gray. What is the more accurate color for "jet black"?

Guess I'll stand out. Mine is a very dark grey. Looks great though, easily mistaken as black. I was also surprised that the interior was considered black, but was a classy dark grey. My brother has a car with black leather, and it's a noticable difference between the two.

The color in photos depends significantly on the conditions under which the pictures are taken. For example, here's a shot of my interior:

This was taken in natural light on a very bright day and the interior looks distinctly gray; in person, however, it is absolute jet black. You really need to look at it in person to see what the color actually is.

Thanks for all of your feedback. I guess my follow-on question is have you found the black leather interior to be too much of a comfort problem for passengers in hot weather?

I haven't seen the "saddle" interior specifically on a titanium gray car in person, but I'm having a tough time believing I could live with the brown & black interior vs. the gray exterior. Any thoughts here too?

I have the titanium gray w/ black interior. Just went and checked and it sure looks black to me. Not sure there is such a thing as light black, but it's definitely more black than dark gray. My previous car had light gray (stone) leather and I will probably always go black from now on. Looks really sharp.

Regarding comfort, my passengers have never companied, but my car is garage parked at home and work. I take people out to lunch often and no one has mentioned hot leather after it was sitting 30-45 minutes in a sunny parking lot. Sitting for hours on end in the hot sun might be a different story but I can't say.

By the way, I absolutely love the titanium gray paint. It looks great from a distance and has a really cool sparkle effect up close. Across all brands, I personally think straight silver is a little too light and some grays look too flat/bland. Hyundai's titanium gray nails it for me.

Both my wife and I have black leather interiors in our cars. We also live in South Georgia where it gets unbearably hot in the summers. Although our cars are kept in a garage, there are times when they are parked in the elements. My biggest complaint is how hot the steering wheel gets. So I don't notice any discomfort from the seats. I know there are distinct differences in the temperature of light vrs dark colors, but I don't find that significant enough to change my buying habits of getting black cars or dark interiors.

Photographic exposure meters will overexpose dark colors if not compensated for - this makes the black look grayish. Slight underexposure will usually produce a better color rendition for dark colors.

My Genny and Audi A6 both have "black" interior. My A6 is definitely Black and the Genny dark grey.

Jet Black = color of Matchlight charcoal upon exiting bag and before ignition. Not a black like Noir Black on Genesis exterior.
