  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

adaptive cruise control

It can be done one way or another. What are you willing to pay for it? Programming is a one time cost but components affect every vehicle. Now there is a minor problem that comes up for only a small portion of drivers and only once or twice a year. I have no idea if it adds $2 per car or $200, but I'm not willing to pay more than single digits. If it occurs on a road you use in your daily commute, you'd be willing to pay more.

If enough drivers complain, they would be more willing to act.

I am fairly happy with the way this works. It is far superior to the system in my 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. Though not as nice as the system in my friends Tesla, I have used it for hours at a time on long highway stretches with little input!

Having a slight issue with my 2016 AWD Genesis with adaptive cruise. Just purchased today and on my long drive home I had the adaptive cruise going. When I would pull behind a car or one would pass me and the car would re-equilibrate to the car in front of me's speed, my car would rev higher as well as start to shake...not uncontrollably but highly noticeable. It would not stop or kick out of this high rev/shake until i hit the brake or cancelled the cruise control. Has anyone else had a similar issue? It happens on eco, normal and sport mode. I have also tried tunring off the LKAS with no improvement. I have already contacted my purchasing dealer and will be taking it into my local dealer in 1.5 weeks and just using the normal cruise control in the meantime. Luckily I got the CPO but not a great start!

I had to have my radar unit replaced under warranty last month, it rarely worked correctly. The new one is flawless.

I agree [not off to a good start] dont get discouraged. It's easy for me to say! It is probably something stupid. You have cpo you are good. I had some stupid problems with my 15 but fot them fixed and love the car.

Thanks for the responses...I have had more time driving the vehicle and have found the normal (non-adaptive) cruise control also makes the high rev. and shakes around 60-65 mph....its definitely worse in the adaptive mode and much more consistent. We will see what the shop says at the end of next week.

I almost seems like the car wants to accelerate and brake at the same time? High rev:wants to accelerate? Shaking : Brakes being applied and the rotors are heating up? Just thinking aloud. Good luck . They will make it right ,something stupid causing grief!

Yea almost like its trying way to hard to find the optimal speed. to me it seemed like more of a programming issue...until i realized it kinda does the same thing when on the non-adaptive cruise...then it makes me think the cruise in general is the issue. we shall see!

Yes it just might be. Let us know what they find. I am very curious!

Here's the update: THE TECH HAS BEEN IN TOUCH WITH Hyundai TECHLINE AND IS INSTRUCTED TO REPLACE THE ECU WHICH IS THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. ONCE THE PART IS INSTALLED HE WILL HAVE TO TEST DRIVE AND UPDATE HIS RESULTS WITH HYUNDAI. I assume this will fix both the non-adaptive cruise and the adaptive cruise issue but we shall see. fingers crossed!

Thanks for the update. I hope that will make it right!🙂

I've noticed something a little odd with my G70 adaptive CC. Let's say you're in the middle lane, with the adaptive cruise set. You come up on a car that's going slower, but the left lane isn't open yet, so you stay behind the slower car. When there's an opening, you signal left and move into the left lane to pass and resume your set speed. Every time I'm in this situation, you can feel the car accelerate a little for just a moment when you signal and start to move left, but then it suddenly slows down for a moment as you're crossing into the other lane, which makes you go "huh?", and then once you're fully in the left lane with nobody ahead, it accelerates again to resume your set speed.
Note that this is all done with no manual intervention of brake or accelerator. Also, I don't use the lane assist, so the fact that I'm crossing the painted line into another lane shouldn't matter (plus I'm using my signal).
Anyone else notice this little drop in speed when using ACC in this scenario?
Otherwise, I've found the system to be flawless.

Oops! Shoot, in my attempt to not start a new thread, I see that I just posted this on the wrong forum! Sorry about that.
Maybe you 2015-2016 owners have noticed this??

Living in the country in the South it’s hunting, mating season for deer. I have hit five in the last ten years. I was wondering if the adaptive cruise would stop my car if one jumped out in front of me.

Don't count on it. That would be a function of the AEB, Automatic Emergency Braking. If it thinks it is a pedestrian and not a deer it may stop. It is not designed for animals though.

Prerequisite for activation
The AEB gets ready to be activated,
when the AEB is selected on the
LCD display, and when the following
prerequisites are satisfied.
- The ESC (Electronic Stability
Control ) is on.
- To enable the system to detect
pedestrians ahead, the vehicle
driving speed must be between 5
mph – 45 mph (8 km/h – 70 km/h).
- To enable the system to detect a
vehicle ahead, the vehicle driving
speed must be between 5 mph –
110 mph (8 km/h – 180 km/h).
When traveling above 50 mph (80
km/h), the AEB system only initiates
partial braking. This is to prevent
unintended full braking to stop in the
middle of the highway.

• The AEB system operates
only to detect vehicles or
pedestrians in front of the
vehicle.
• The AEB system does not
operate when the vehicle is in
reverse.
• The AEB system is not
designed to detect other
objects on the road such as
animals.
• The AEB system does not
detect cross traffic vehicles
that are approaching.
• The AEB system cannot
detect the driver approaching
the side view of a parked vehicle
(for example on a dead
end street.)
In these cases, you must maintain
a safe braking distance,
and if necessary depress the
brake pedal to reduce the driving
speed in order to maintain a
safe distance.
