  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Adjust the electronically controlled suspension on your Genesis GV60

If spending a few bucks makes the car feel better to you and improves your driving experience, go for it. However, for those that may be seeking performance improvements, my experience has been that 90% of those that would consider themselves sporty/performance drivers have little ability to handle a car at >8/10 of what a vehicle can do. The existing setup is easily capable of doing absolutely fine at 8/10.

If you're driving your GV60 beyond that, 1) you're asking for trouble, regardless of what kind of suspension you have, and; 2) why the !@#$ are you doing that on public roads? 0% of us are tracking our GV60s.
One does not have to drive their car anywhere near 10/10ths (or even 8/10ths) to enjoy sportier handling. At times I do enjoy the additional damping the GV60 Sport Mode provides, especially when I encounter uneven surfaces at highway speeds.

I strongly suspect I would enjoy the ability to select additional damping beyond Sport Mode. We have PASM on our Macan which in combination with other options gives us the ability to set PASM to Sport Plus. The Macan owners manual describes that setting as being for track use, but I've never tracked the Macan. I just enjoy the sporty handling when I'm in the mood for it. Has nothing to do with performance driving nor my driving ability.

The steering feedback in gv60 car is equal to a school bus, which makes the value of the suspension modifications only about "my suspension is modified" thingy. If someone is into "performance driving", this is not the car for you, although it is a perfect cruiser/commuter car. Unless the "racing/ performance driving" is a white knuckle straight line acceleration into triple digits for a 0.5 mile
Drove my RS5 today, so fun...
Yes the steering feedback is basically non-existent. But that does not necessarily mean the GV60 can't be made to handle more sportily. Just the Sport setting as configured at the factory makes a very noticeable improvement in body control. And consider what those here who have switched to higher performance tires have reported, including more immediate turn-in.

Of course I'm not suggesting you are not going morph the GV60 into a Porsche Macan (we own one). But there's certainly room for improvement. And if that just does not appeal to you that's fine too.

I do have to mention the GV60 does blow the doors off our Cobb tuned Macan Turbo :-)

Exactly. While the soft suspension makes for fantastic ride quality, uneven surfaces on the interstate can make the GV60 remind me of my father's Grand Marquis a bit too much. The Sport setting definitely mitigates this to an extent, and a bit more damping would put the GV60 right on the sweet spot toward the damping like on a BMW or Audi crossover.

Really wish there was more info on this control box. If I'm not mistaken, this disables the suspension mode changes in the drive mode selector but doesn't disable the camera based on the fly suspension adjustments? Does the GV60 version of the controller come pretuned for our cars? It seems like you can get pretty in the weeds with the advanced config, but that's pretty useless unless you can actually dial it in on a road course and know what you're doing.

The one gripe I have about the GV60 is that even 6/10 driving makes the car wallow around more than I'm used to. Coming from and A6 and an AMG GLA45 prior to that the car feels unbalanced when you're going down the twisty stuff. It's not that it lacks grip, it just feels like the front and rear ends aren't doing the same thing. Aside from my getting some fatter antiroll bars (which would probably hurt the ride quality in comfort mode) this controller would be a great thing to get to tighten the car up a bit when in sport mode. But if it's just applying more stiffness across the board out of the box I think that car will still feel unbalanced and disconnected.

Regardless of how or what we drive, we can always benefit from improved traction. I haven't looked into details yet, but since I use a dedicated winter tire when it's cold, I could swap with either a summer-only or performance all-season for the warmer months. It's been a few years since I've needed to buy a summer tire, but the latest generation of performance all-season tires seem to provide 90% of the performance of a summer-only, with fewer compromises.
I have noticed that and might consider the Pilot all season tires instead of the Pilot pure summer tires. Either way, the Pilot series should be a significant upgrade over the Primacy series that are OEM.

I have an ECS10 controller, unfortunately you can give up on it.

I had some great help, over the course of several weeks, from a fella in Korea, who was contacting Mando directly. We tried many different wiring configurations with no success, he was even looking at cars there but the wiring was different.

It seems there is just enough of a change to cause connection issues with the app, it doesn’t save the settings. The module works quite well but having to get the connection setup every time is a serious pain.
