  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Advice on buying a used 2010 Genesis! Thanks

I own a 2010 4.6 with 27000 miles. the one you are considering, Fair price, a little high on the mileage. Keep in mind that there are some options that are only covered for 3 years, 36000 miles, ie: audio and navigation systems. I use full synthetic oil when I have the oil changed usually 7500 miles ($65.00)
Put a set of Bridgestone Serenity Plus tires at around 22,000 mile ($1100.00)
Other than that I have not had to spend any more on maintenance, a few minor repairs that were covered under warranty. BTW, does it have the Tech pkg? Great car, good luck if you buy it, you will enjoy it very much. You will need snow tires in the northeast.

It looks great in red. IMO, you should look for a CPO Genesis in order to keep the warranty. If you buy this one from the KIA dealer, then get a very good extended warranty. You will only have the powertrain warranty till you hit 60k. Just a thought.

CPO on these cars is NOT the way to go. They only give you the balance of the factory warranty, which is 3/36 on the electronics...so that is almost up.

IMHO, grab a premier extended warranty. There are threads here that can help with that a lot. I think that is a great price. Except it doesn't have the tech package :/

OneFunGenesis - actually, CPO from a Hyundai dealer gives you the 100K powertrain warranty from the original inservice date. The only way to get this transfered to a 2nd owner is to buy CPO. You also get the remaining 5 year, 60K limited bumper to bumper in addition to the 3 year, 36K on electronics. I think you also get 10 year unlimited mileage roadside assistance. They will also offer you the option to upgrade the 5 year, 60K bumper to bumper to 10 year, 100K bumper to bumper for a nominal fee.

Ah. I was never offered the upgrade. They said CPO that transfers the warranty or extended bump to bump. I have a 6yr 100k mi warranty (from date of purchase) bumper to bumper including electronics.

Cost me $1,200
