In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Aero package development-SPY PICS

Hi, sorry I was not ingoring you, just had to get off Net.
I'll do my best, but the hood on my car is being used for scoop and cold air intake prototypes, so the sheet metal under scoop is cut out.
We'll take the first scoop off, then put cut down version on, if looks good we'll
install actual part, but at no time this particular hood will take stock form.
Best i know when someone orders grille and front facia without hood scoop,
we'll take pics then.
Thanks for the interest!

Look forward to the progression of the aero package.

front fascia and second scoop design are great. rear wing needs something, can't quite put my finger on it though. its a bit too Eleanor and needs to be tied into the sides a bit better. but with how you modified the scoop I'm sure it can be modified too.

I like all these aero packages, but I'd rather have normal styling with about 200hp more. I'll take go over show any day.

I applaud your efforts.

A suggestion for the 5.0 hood and air intakes.
Move the hood scoop openings to the outside on the hood where the airboxes are located and work on an air intake system.

Question about the grill. Those Gen Sedans with the sensors, are they out of luck?

Question about the grill. Those Genesis Sedans with the sensors, are they out of luck?

No, just the opposite.
here how it goes with the grille:
One of the conditions imposed on our project is that all sencer remain functional.

So, when I did a grille prototype we cut out the middle, then made perimeter
twice as thick, 1,5" deep and straighten the top line ( not on the side where it mates to the hood, but where mesh is).
Then I took stock plastic cover that protects the sensor and incorporated it into the prototype. Th start with we had to assume that radar will only work with stock cover. Back then we were ready to have custom grille which would
accept plastic cover from stock grille.
So the mold was made and first grille laid in F/G.

Next we put the new grille on the car, without cutting Fiberglass and inserting
plastic. The sencor worked properly.
I guess fiberglass is as transparnet to radar signal as is plastic.
Mind you, the steel mesh cut out behind the square, again we are assuming
mesh would interfere with the signal.

Now we know that all grille can be F/G and we will tweek it a bit, fo more attractive look. We'll sink the square a bit, leaving side vertical edges
where they are now. We'll merge the edges with the sunk center, creating same kind of character line found on the hood.

In about two weeks we'll have that done and post pics.

For those without the sencor we'll just offer same grill without square in the middle, just all mesh. We'll use same mold for those grilles, provisions for both
kinds are there.

So - great question - thanks, and yes sencor behind the grille
will remain functional.

Interesting. all the turbo and superchrger mods are great, we would love to work on one for Genesis. personally I prefer turbos for their efficiency. they also don't put unnesessary load on the engine's internals, where as supercharger is driven buy the engine and about 20% power created goes into driving the SC.
We did a twin turbo kit for 94-96 Impala SS (see thumbnail) and it was lots of fun.
We did not build the engine up, SBC will handle 500 HP safely without any mods. And - MAF system handeled extra air flow nicely, never threw a code.
If driven easy you would never know there car has a turbo. We did put an Aeromotive fuel regulator with pressure reference port and bumped pressure to 52psi. Down low PCM shortened injector cycle to have 1:14 AFR and when
we stepped on it it would go to 1:12.5 AFR. So the PCM was always happy and we never leaned out. If someone were to have same type approach to Genesis
it might have useful application. The turbos have to be selected carefully though - with A/R fairly low, about .65. and limit wastegastes to about 8.5Psi
Turbos like that , with fairly small inducer sise - maybe 58-60mm would spool
up quickly, have a go at low - mid range and somewhat calm down after 5000 RPM. The car would be a monster to drive, have big power in the mid range and some extra on top, but not too much to overload engine at high RPM.
As for our efforts, we are bound by the rule of not compromizing warranty, as our package(s) will be offered as dealer option for new car sales.
I'm sure someone will step up like the outfit from SEMA, and develope workable package. I don't know what aftermarket hardware is awailable for 5.0 or 3.8 - like pistons, cams and so forth. Also - who can beef up tranny and rear end?

So, for now we'll work on Cold air intake. I'm leaning towrds leaving stock boxes intact, since they are already taking air fron the front,
and adding two cone filters drawing from under the scoop. We'll have to buld a pan to keep hot engine bay air isolated from the new flters.
in other words, have a cold air intake not instead of but in addition to stock one. Commonly we can expect 10 extra HP on top from a mod like that.
With free flowing mufflers we can hope to get 440 HP ..

Are you ready to share what you'll be charging for the 'radar' grill or 'non radar' grill?

I would wait to ask prices until these are actually for sale. From reading what George has posted to date, the process is in R&D phase right now.

True but we already have a pretty good idea - probably $150 + S&H for non radar grille, and $180 for the radar one. Just because there a little bit more work on radar grille, mostly mesh intallation since radar grill have some mesh removed behind radar cover and extra connections will be nesessary around that opening, to the square radar cover.
I also think we may have "ZZR" embossed on the square, but maybe it should be optional.
That would be price range with the mesh installled, attachment bolts molded to the grille so it's ready to bolt on. And, the grille will come unpanted, in gelcoat finish. That means it will have to be sanded, primed and painted professionally.
For those who prefer to install their own mesh we'll offer a discount, say $40.

As Tpr5.0 noted, we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to finalize everything with the grille before talking orders.

The first picture really looked horrendous. The second photoshopped one is much better, but for some reason I just don't like open vent hoods unless it's a pure sports/muscle car (I don't know why, but it's the feeling I get).

I'm definitely curious about the end product.

Thank you! Looking forward to seeing the finished products! I may not be interested in all the items but its nice to see someone making the effort!

Re: sillly goose.

My crap outperforms your crap.
And even my crap's crap outperfoms your crap.
Way to endear yourself to the community. I wouldn't be so rude as to tell you it looks like crap, but frankly, it's poorly suited to the automobile, adds nothing positive to its appearance. I would describe it as garish; but append that it's my personal opinion.

You got me there ZZR. I personally do not like the look, but good effort. I do like the "under the hood look though." I did not mean to offend, sorry, keep it up.

Apology accepted!

Thanks for that, I know this is not for everyone, and that's OK.
Guess I'm around people who does like this type of look, everyone who seen the car in person told me so.
Mistakes are always expected, we just have to keep on at it :)
