  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aftermarket remote starter?

Beefer,

iPhone ignorant here! How do I get to a "widget screen. Is there a specific widget app I need to get on my phone?
Enjoy,

Well...I guess it depends on what iOS you have...LOL. But widgets have been around for a while.

On your home screen...swipe to the very left (finger swipes right). The very left screen is your search, widgets, etc. Scroll down to the widget section...and hit Edit.

I am assuming widgets are always there. If you don't see widgets at all...you need to Google how to turn them on, etc.

On iPhone...only widget they have is to send POI to the car :( Bummer.
You need to expand the widget (I think it will stay expanded) and you get Start, Lock, etc

^ fme...didn’t see the Show More...LOL. Thanks!!!

What sucks is...it still has to start the slow-ass App. Thought it might be more clever and hit their API directly somehow.

my app starts instantaneously (literally) , no login. Yes you still have to enter the PIN but with face recognition that seems quick on my phone.

Mcc,

I'm new to iPhone widgets. How do I expand it to see the additional features?
Enjoy,

I'm guessing it makes you login again if you routinely use the "close all apps" on your phone. At least, it seems like that is how it is handled on my Note 8

I’m sure it would but I never use close all apps on my iPhone. Never saw a reason to do so much if at all.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I was all excited to see the Genesis app had a widget, but then it turns out it must only be for the US customers... Nothing for us north of the border... :(

Android Phone - Long press Home Screen > Widget > Genesis, then you have 5 widgets to choose.

The things you learn on a forum, first time I've ever investigated Widgets and it works well. Thanks for the Tip

I'm not impressed with the remote start at all. The couple of times I've used it, while brushing snow off the car, the car shuts off after a couple of minutes of idle instead of the 10 minutes I've optioned in the app. While the app is a nice feature put the remote start where it belongs on the FOB.

If I open and close the door after remote starting, without getting in (ie leaving my key fob in the driver's seat) I've noticed that it will shut off after a minute or two. Might explain what you're experiencing.

It is. Genesis considers it a safety feature in the event someone is trying to steal the car. Here in Canada we have something called snow. We need to have the car warming up while brushing off the snow. Can't do that if the car shuts off. Silly.

I always took my snow brush into the house of snow was predicted overnight. Cleaned it off while the car was running, no need to open anything until ready to leave.

Maybe toss your keyfob in the driver's seat while brushing off snow?

Same here. I noticed this some time ago. If you open and close the door without having the key fob inside, the car will shut off.

This seems to be an issue with more than Genesis, The Mercedes network functions almost exactly the same way they way, they also were down for an entire weekend and then made you reinstall the app to get everything working with the update lol, I want my key fob back.
