air condition not working blowing hot air 2012 genesis sedan 3.8
Could be a lot of things. Loss of refrigerant, damper not in proper position, relay, fuse.air condition not working blowing hot air 2012 genesis sedan 3.8
Are you sure that you have an AC clutch? I think by 2012, you should have the variable control valve at the back of the compressor, instead of an electric clutch. In that case, there will be no AC relay.thank you i cant find the ac relay would you know where it might be?
One would think if the car sat there and ran with the A/C running any leak would be instantly evident...? The reason I say this is I had everything A/C related under the hood replaced on my wife's SUV(I bought everything from RockAuto) and the shop replaced the parts. They charged me for the freon, dye and labor. Works perfectly and didn't have to go back for any issues.hi... i took the car to the mechanic he charged the system and put dye in the system have to return in a week to see where the leak is...thanks to all the help
I understand but they use a black light to the see any leaks with the dye showing up which is "right away". Just my .02i have a very slow leak so i have to wait to see where the dye is coming out hope its just an O ring ..
Not if it is the evaporator, or out-gassing through the hoses.I understand but they use a black light to the see any leaks with the dye showing up which is "right away". Just my .02
Evap coil going bad is rare, bit I had two. They put dye in my G80 and months later, found the leak. Not if it is the evaporator, or out-gassing through the hoses.
In any event, it should be easier to spot after running a little while.
Okay, thanks Ed. One would think in muggy Florida it would show up quicker?Evap coil going bad is rare, bit I had two. They put dye in my G80 and months later, found the leak.
The dealer did an evacuation and recharge. They put dye in at that time. Problem was solved for months. Then one day, no AC. Took a couple of weeks to get in and yes, it is hot and muggy here.Okay, thanks Ed. One would think in muggy Florida it would show up quicker?
They'd have to tear out a good bit of the dash to be able to see it sooner. It's much more reasonable to wait till it shows up in the condensate water dripping under the car.Okay, thanks Ed. One would think in muggy Florida it would show up quicker?
What year Genesis and miles if you would share?Had to replace my condenser Friday. Hopefully that's it for awhile.
Wow, so below 60K miles.2012....3.8.............65500km's
The condenser is behind the grill and in front of the radiator. It may have been hit by a rock or something, rather than just failing on its own.Wow, so below 60K miles.
