  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dumb question-- what's the deal with the air filter on a 2013 3.8L Genesis? I undo the 4 clips and I can't really remove the cover. There is an electrical cable that goes taut.

Also where is this so-called flapper that causes a dead pedal?

Inside that box that you are trying to remove the cover off of, under the filter element. And I believe the electrical cable has a handy connector right next to the lid that you can dis-connect easily.

Are you saying that the flapper is below the air filter? If so, I woudlj't feel comfortably putting any kind of tape below the filter!

I just reversed the magnet. No tape.

The engine pulls from above the filter. You wouldn't want tape above the filter.

Remove the magnet. That's what I did.
